Castle Docterine Expanded - PA

In Pennsylvania, as in most states, your home is your castle and you have a right to defend it.

Soon, you will be able to add your car. Or the sidewalk. Or anywhere you "have the legal right to be."

I thought you always had the right to defend you and your family if an intruder was in your house. The thing is that if you shot at an intruder, them or their family could sue you for damages... and sadly, sometimes they would win. This bill addresses that issue. I carry the mindset that if there is someone in my house, I'm going to shoot to kill.

I'd like get a handgun for home defense, but I think the chu-chuck of a shotgun is an intimidating sound and could scare off intruders. If not, the spread is great for near blackout conditions and most homes aren't long enough to warrant something more accurate.

The "spread" of a shotgun is a misconception. At distances found inside most homes, even wiht an 18" barrel and improved cylidner choke, you won't get much more than a 4" spread of shot.

The main advantage a shotgun has is that if you use #4 shot or smaller indoors, it won't do much damage to things ont he other side of a wall if it goes through a wall. However at the distance between you and someone inside your home #4 to #8 shot will put a nice hole in someone and the surface area of the wound cavity will lead to very rapid bleeding.

Most modern handgun and rifle ammo can go through several walls with lethal force on the other side. Some of my rifles will go through my house and into the neighbor's house and still be lethal. Using a shotgun I don't have to worry about that.

The "Stand Your Ground" bill, or HB40 is not yet law. It passed the house and senate, but still needs to be signed by Gov. Corbett. Once he signs it it goes into effect in 60 days, IIRC.

So don't anyone think you are protected by this law yet.

This is what will get you into trouble. The law does not allow you to "shoot to kill" it allows you to use lethal force until the threat is stopped.

If you shoot someone and they go down and are no longer a threat, that's where protection from the law ends.

Well good thing I didn't int hat case because you are correct, its not yet in affect. All I did was ask this contractor not to use up 3 spots in an extremely polite manner and this ****ing ghetto bitch starts screaming and talking ****, I said again, I was not looking to start a confrontation. He keeps going, I walk away, he starts following me. (Up to this point something was in his view or something because he did not see I was holding my holstered gun)

As he started following me I turned around and waved my holstered gun at him and said see this? He stopped, turned towards the construction site again and I said I don giva sheet if yo a paulice officia, I get outta jail. **** you.

At that point I let it go since he was walking back to the construction site.

Actually, since you apparently don't know the laws, open carry is legal, and I have a license to conceal. As I said, I was not pointing the gun at him, I brought his attention to my holstered gun.

since apparently YOU dont know the laws open carry is not the same as waving your gun around holstered or otherwise. also, since you seem to be such a legal expert you may want to stop calling it a license to concel... it is in fact called a license to carry.

::edit::
arent you the same guy that wanted to make stickers for your car that said some ridiculous statement about your gun carrying-ness along the lines of "keep honking I am carrying a gun" or something similar.

what Munky is getting at is as far as I can tell EXACTLY what I wrote above.. PLEASE for all of our sake do some research (and I am NOT bashing you), if you continue to act the way you say you do, you will more than likely have your LTC revoked and/or go to jail... at least it will make good reading on PAFOA

::double edit::

it was:

Proud Gun Owner
Don't Mess With Me

that you wanted to get made to put on your car... much better....

Doesn't matter fact is, I would rather get fined or arrested than injured by some stupid ass construction worker looking for a fight. I've never done that before, never will again because it was an impulse in the moment.

That is besides the point. We have gotten way off-topic.

Let me clarify what I meant by waving it, not much better than what I assume you guys think I mean. I was holding it at waste level and attaching it as we were talking. I waved my hand pointing down at my holster while wiggeling it back and forth.

I am very aware of the laws, like I said, it was impulsive and stupid, but I was legitimately scared for myself because this guy was coming at me with something in his hand.

Now get off my dick.

Responsible gun owners don't act impulsively in dangerous situations... that's how people get hurt.
