One of the best comparisons I've seen on the Evo forum I'm on is the GTR. Basically, you'd have to rebuild the engine and run a huge turbo that'll spool around 4.5k rpms in order to keep up with a stock GTR. Factor in the supporting mods to let the car handle that amount of power and we're talking tens of thousands of dollars by the time this build is done. As we all know, the GTR then just needs to buy a Cobb AP and reflash the ecu and he's in another stratosphere from the built Evo. The Evo has the better engine for this power game and even still, it'll get roasted pretty easily.

Cost to benefit ratio. Great economic term and it's helped a lot with weening off the bigger, more more more MOAR of car modifying.
Exactly, and I don't mean to imply that I don't understand having passion for what you own but you do have to come to terms with what it is and how much it will cost you. Even if you don't care about the numbers or what will beat what, you still have to consider that the more you do to modify a car past stock the more likely you are to have a failure that can destroy what you've built. I know for myself I love my WRX but there is always a part of me that wishes I had just left it stock with an exhaust.

My friend James (Boosted_Bogan) is gonna use his truck & trailer to tow it to Andrewtech tomorrow.

I'll be riding shotgun.
He's working third shift this week & STILL up for 6+ hours of driving after work.
Friends will be there for you when it's convenient...
True friends will be there for you when it ISN'T.

hahaha, I think with our expectations like that we might as well be hooked on a game of Heroin Hero... We can try and try forever, but we'll never catch that little flying dragon...

Exactly. Now imagine all the money some people put into making their car look pretty. (aww JDM CF dildo holder.) One accident, bad park job, etc. ruins that.

That thing isn't ever going to handle great.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and passion for the project and I can't wait to see it all fixed up and running strong.

Your 5x100 rite? If so you'll have to settle for 18x10 rotas or some custom ccw or works

sorry to hear about the trans issues...i have connections, maybe this beast needs to be blessed with some holy water? lol

also, 18x10 sounds more appealing than 18x8

True, 18x10 would be sexy, but I'm guessing ANY rota in that size will weigh a LOT more than my OZs.
Besides I plan on 17x7.5 for my winter wheels & keeping the freshly powdercoated 18x8s

In the last GRM, there was a team that put together an old Jeep Cherokee for autocross. It was a pretty neat read and might help give you some ideas for ways to make the Baja handle. Biggest challenge right off the bat is your high CG.

how do you figure this when gtr's do 11.7's stock?

the most i can imagine it taking a subie to beat that is a forged rotating assembly and a good turbo or plenty of spray. final outcome should still be WELL under the purchase price of a GTR

BAJA CURSE.

IT IS REAL.

Hit & bent the sexy side exit. Hopefully the DP didn't pull the turbo out of whack.

I almost had a psychotic episode. LOL

Rob man, im really sorry this negative energy seems to follow your baja. When it rains it pours. Ill keep you in my thoughts, that you get through this with no more hassle(s).

Could you run 18x10s without some kind of spacers ?
