Clutch is making horrific clicking noise

Okay so I've done some research about clicking, popping clutches and none of what I've seen exactly describes my problem.

Here's the story, When I bought this car the clutch started making a clicking/popping sound and it was here and there all of the time it wasn't anything permanent. And it only happens when I push the pedal in. Now it has gotten way worse. It will make about 3 to 6 clicking noises as i push in the pedal, and basically I've figured out that if it clicks about 6 times that the clutch isn't engaged enough to get into first from a dead stop or to shift gears. I mean, once I'm going it does shift but it's like im shifting without a clutch. I am convinced it's coming from the cabin, but I can't be 100% sure because I don't necessarily know exactly what I'm talking about, but some of you guys do. I'm gonna try to take it to a shop tomorrow, but I don't wanna have to go there and have them tell me they don't know and replace something they don't necessarily have to. Please help. Thanks

check under the dash, look at where the clutch pedal assembly goes thru the firewall, if there is fluid leaking all over then your CMC went out. if not, then follow the assembly into the engine bay and check for and leaks or broken linkages in the clutch line.
