Engine Swap

Alright so I have two preludes... one that i smashed up, and one with a blown motor. I want to take the motor out of the one i smashed up and put it in the one with the blown motor. I started this process today (except I don't have a garage and i'm doing it in my driveway). It is incredibly cold haha. Any shops on here willing to give me a price to take it out and put it in the other one? I just about have the blown motor out (just a matter of pulling the axles off). I can't feel my fingers as i type this haha.

Or if someone has a warm garage I could rent til I was done... I would just have to find a way to get the cars to you. I live in South Jersey, about 15 mins from Philly.

rob.mcmichael at gmail dot com is my email

thanks,

Rob

$1,000 with all new fluids from start to finish, Is what I have always charged over the years and still continue to do so, Doing 1-2 every month. Not sure what others charge, However.

I'm sure if you call around or look at vendors ETC on this site, You may be able to find someone willing to give you a good deal but I'm not sure.

my thoughts exactly, but since he does them pretty consistently... people must be willing to pay haha.

I'd rather not have to trailer the cars into PA though, would like to find someone as local as possible to me.

I'm very sorry, I should have mentioned that price was not for hondas'. I usually do evo's, sti's, wrx's, dsm's, srt4's but can do any swap. I'm unsure of honda pricing or if it would vary. I'm sure you can find someone local. I just had a car get trailored (And picked up when finished), From NJ after I built the car for them (Non honda).

Price it out. Go to other shops. I think you'd be surprised.

You can also save alot of money and rent out a garage/storage unit for a 1month limit , And get a heater in there to quick do the job in a few hours. Or, Have a friend let you rent out a spot in their garage for a day to get the job done.

Yeah engine swap is an engine swap, most places will charge an arm and a leg for an engine swap, best bet would be to pay someone local who does it alot or rent somewhere out and do it yourself

Yeah, i just stopped into the shop around the corner... he said i'm looking at 800 for a complete R+R. I have been doing some garage shopping, that would be most ideal because i'd save a bunch just doing it myself.

you'd probably save alot of money if you found like a friend with a garage and do it yourself... hondas are really easy to do swaps... id help you out if i had a garage and if you werent as far as you were..

thanks man, yeah i'll just work on it in my driveway. i've done honda swaps before, just never an h22 (not that it is that different) the swap is simple too as it is one prelude to another. I got the blown motor out, so this week (since i have to do it after work) my goal is to have the good motor out of the other prelude, then on saturday, hopefully get the good motor into the good body.
