I was always curious when i see police officers driving around or sitting in a obscure area trying to catch people speeding, is that an assignment? Or is it up to you guys? Like do you just drive around all day looking for people breaking the law or waiting for calls or do you have an agenda or specific requirements to meet throughout the day? Just me being curious thats all, thanks!

We might be assigned to an area because of complaints of speeding or if there has been break ins in the area of criminal mischief

But for the most part we are left to ourselves and wander around how we please, some guys like to just kick back and wait for calls and some guys are non stop patrol and doing traffic stops
