I don't know if it's true, but that's what he told me.
theres a link on the page that shows you local stores where you can pick up the transponder. then all you have to do is register online (not sure if that's the part you were talking about that didnt work online earlier). i got mine at an Acme.

i've only had mine since last summer but i love it. so convenient, especially when you can go through EZ Pass express lanes at tolls during the summer or when there's a lot of traffic. beats the hell out of sitting in line.

Funny story, the PA turnpike toll was originally designed to be a program with a finite span. Once the original project costs were paid, the tolls were supposed to be killed and it was to be a regular road.

How things change...

At the valley forge rest stop they actually have a vending machine that dispenses ez-passes. I thought that was unique. I'm of the opinion that they are deliberately scheduling too few collectors in order to push ez-pass adoption... which IMHO is a load of crap because sometimes I forget my tag.

That was the plan for 90% of the toll roads in the US, but now the money is supposed to go towards maintenance and repair. except in NJ's case where they took the money designated for transportation and spent it on other crap.

Definitely seems a lot more convenient. A plus it that they might not pick up on the trailer which would cost stupid money coming back from Jersey.

Well. At least the turnpike is always in good repair, even if none of the others ever are.

Hey you don't have any sources on a cheap open trailer do you? Looking for a used one in good condition for around a grand. Going price seems to actually be between $1500-$2000 for a very nice one.

So while were on the subject of EZPass, whos the genius that decided its a good idea to stagger the cash and ezpass lanes?!

Its pretty awesome having to wait in the cash lanes just to get TO the ezpass ones. What ever happened to EZPass keep left?

Nah lets just **** up the whole "flow" of the toll booth so that EVERYONE can be late, rather than just the ones paying cash. Ugh.

You can get a nice open trailer new for about $3000 if you ever thought about getting new.

Those guys are right in Limerick. Where we got our open trailer. I would recommend getting one with it open in the middle. Makes for changing oil real easy.

i wonder if the turnpike commissions will ever start mailing people speeding tickets for the time you clock onto and then clock out of the exit.

They legally cant. Pretty sure its been ruled upon, and was decided it was unconstitutional. Not sure what the exact ruling was, but I know theyre not allowed to do that. As of now, anyway.

I know. Its soo easy to calculate someones avereage speed. Only problem that I could see with it is you can't ticket the owner of the car for speeding, you have to ticket the driver. It would hell for them to try and guess who was driving. I would bet at the end of the day, it woudl cost them more money to research people and go to courty to prove it then they would bring in.

The only thing I dont understand about this logic is.. why can they ticket a car for running a redlight seen on a camera, but cant do the same for speeding? They dont prove who was driving, they just prove that the car registered to you blew a redlight.

If you pleed not guilty don't they have to come to court to prove you were in fact the driver? And even if you are proved the driver, I thought it was a no-points violation.

I don't know the laws, just trying to use common sense which is many times worthless when it comes to law stuff.
