There shouldn't be a memorial for someone who killed themself. It would be one thing if they had an accidnet and died, but they choose to kill themself. Thats on them so why remember someone for that?

suicide does not equate horrible person.

Mike, the kid who hung himself, was a great guy. I had talked to him at happy hours a handful of times and he was a genuine nice guy. The point of a memorial is to remember someone. People choose a way out sometimes from a pain they don't otherwise feel they can save themselves from.

suicide isnt a reason to demonize someone, it also isn't a reason to have a memorial. However, i have not heard of any other death of a coworker in my time here and i cannot place an assumption that the company would not do the same for someone who... say, died in a car accident

.. it's a wash really. The person pays the ultimate sacrifice so it's not like it's the easy way out. Robbing a bank, killing your family, raping that girl you want, etc those are the easy ways out.

Trouble is, everyone I know who committed suicide weren't attention whores, didn't cry out for help and even didn't even seem upset. They basically had good active lives. There's something to it (at least the ones that I knew) that I don't comprehend.

I appreciate you're guys opinions on this. I have had first hand experiences with this more times than I should have, and there is no reason to put the person at fault.

In fact, it is becoming recognized more as a disease now which can come about from chemical imbalances in the brain, be it caused by medication, drug abuse, depression or other means.
