i am thinking a orthopedic doctor who specializes in hands might be a place to start. i have seen the doctors at this UPENN practice for other injuries and have gotten a positive outcome. you can call there and they can tell which of their doctors is best for your symptoms.

my right wrist and hand are in a bunch of pain too the last few days. using the mouse hurts. i wonder if i can get permenant disability for not being able to use spreadsheets and my mouse.

my burns are fortunately minor... especially considering what they could have been. water boils at 100c(212F) i have no doubt that the boiling point of wort is higher, perhaps not by much... but it is. 1st degree burns on the pinky, ring and middle fingers of my left hand. feeeels great...

I got one before for speaking about it.

And I am thankful I got a job. I don't know what I would do without, supporting the car hobby and my girl is expensive.

what the heck were you thinking? boiling water in skin is doesn't sound like a good idea.

you can buy a wart remover kit at rite-aide/cvs that uses a container of liquid nitrogen( i think but its the cold way of burning) which you apply to just the wart. it gets numb, burns, frozen, then you can scrape it away. i had one on my thumb removed by a dr and did one myself. both have never returned.

mine started to hurt over the summer about halfway through yoga class. this semester i'm taking ceramics and i can't imagine working with clay is helping my issue. it gets so bad some days that it hurts to even hold a pen, stretch my hand out completely or lift things with my right hand. kind of annoying since i need to lift files at work and write during school. typing on my keyboard doesn't bother it though...weird.

I really dont want to go to a specialist for it. i'd rather just go to my regular doctor. I'm not trying to spend a whole lot of money on it. i'm kind of dumb when it comes to certain aspects of my health.

Oops.

i made wine in the past and it "coming to a boil" never had the temp rising to the boiling point of liquid. i just made up my mind when i read through that you were burning stuff off instead of it being part of the process of making beer.

your doctor will most likely tell you to see a specialist silly goose. im just trying to eliminate a step.

i originally read your reply as "it hurts to even hold a peen"....

My brother did something similar in high school when he worked at mcdonalds. Inadvertently dipped that portion of his hand into the fryer. It was.... well not good. Also reminds me of about 8 years ago when I was less wise, I had an unfused power wire running through my beretta. It shorted on one of the seat rails as I was driving down I95. Car filled with smoke as the wire glowed. I pulled over and made the decision that I should try to save the car and grabbed the glowing wire and yanked it to break it and stop the short. I'm kind of surprised that healed up without any scarring. I DID save the car too ;) I'm just a TINY bit more careful now.

I can't believe you weren't joking! It read very funnily to me ;)

I was on iphone so I was a bit short, but actually I know how to keep carpal tunnel at bay. For me it involves not setting your wrists on anything when you type or mouse. Don't rest them on the desk or a little gel mouse pad things. Those make it worse than just holding your hands in the air. I'm not sure how you'd get carpal tunnel doing ceramics though. Maybe you're thinking RSI. Carpal tunnel comes from pressure on the wrists and angling your hands/wrists incorrectly. At least from what I read. I have RSI in my mouse fingers. Just feels like arthritis or something. Really annoying and is pretty effective at stopping me from working. I'm just happy my head stopped throbbing. Usually just 2 advils will kill a migraine for me (I'm lucky in that aspect) but yesterday 4 didn't take care of it.
