I have done a couple of the walks. Its really nice. Breast cancer runs in my family and that kinda thing scares the hell out of me. No one should have to go thru this horrible disease.

What about a meet or some type of event to raise $ for cancer/breast cancer.

Street Wars is an annual event at Stockton College and raises money for breast cancer research/cure. I went this year, it was a huge turn-out.

That whole thing about donating money to Haiti through texts was a huge scam, too. Little, if any, of that money made it onto the ground to help those people and they are as bad today as they were a year ago.

Yea. I am all for helping any cause that I believe in... but all this donating $ and helping all these people in other countries is such BS. We need to get the US back on its feet b4 we go donating billions and sending equipment to other countries. The other countries are not doing it for us... I know and realize that a lot of people in the world are starving and homeless, but take a walk around Manhattan this winter... what about all those Americans.

ive done walks etc and in my fraternity work have raised a few thousand dollars for different charitys, but the key point being raised here is more people need to be educated on where their money is going. there was an "un-named" sorrority at school that every year raises money for think pink stuff (i totally forget which it was) and its amazing how many of them you could ask where their money was going and they had no idea. Personally awareness funds make me angry because im paying for more magnets etc. to be printed, this is why i raised the point to not only raise true awareness, but to get more poeple to donate to actual research funds ( but not ones that work with drug companies) because those people are truely putting in the man hours to find a cure.

I totally hear ya, Chris. This whole breast cancer awareness thing has gone too far. It has enough awareness, how about funding a cure now?

woahh man, i just read this and talked to my mom about it....my family has started many drug companies and sold out some of the biggest ones so there is plenty experience. everything that they do is monitored by the government, the computers, offices, decisions, everything. They are doing what they can but there is only so much they can do right now. The government is the one controlling where most of the money goes even to other countries. I can tell you right now that even besides owning the companies we donate id say close to 6 figures on breast cancer a year because it runs in the family too....even with the companies there is still only so much they can do which is why we try to help others find a cure too.
just blame the govt right now, please

still agree with everything else you said though.

The word "corporation" describes what our Govt. is today. Pharmaceutical companies are part of that corporation.

I donate a LOT of money every year. Not only for the awesome write offs, but because I am that kind of person and am gifted with my life so I like to give forward. Anyways, what I do is donate directly to organizations, not through proxies. I do my research and make sure I get updates on what my money has done. It usually goes into pools with other charities, but you get the idea. Everyone that throws into that pool, kinda of like mutual funds, gets to know exactly where their money is going and helping.

No.

Humans are humans. One group doesn't deserve any more help than the other.

Our country has always placed the rich in the highest regard. Today is no different. With that said, I don't trust pharmaceutical corporations at all. To say their lobbying is questionable is putting it mildly.
