My mom definitely could. She made my cousin's son a monkey hat with little ears on top. All she does is crochet.

that sounds absolutely adorable! my mom used to make me Care Bears when i was younger. more recently she's made Winnie the Pooh and Tigger for kids of people that she works with. and blankets. tons of blankets.
