Re: Debating on a second vehicle.

I'm really not too picky. I would prefer a 9 just for the MIVEC, but an 8 wouldn't hurt my feelings in the least. I figure 18k for a decent Evo or R would be a fair offering for the right one. I've looked on EvoM and I've seen the ones that were built and loved, and the ones that were thrown together. I'm not opposed to buying a modded one at all. I just wanted to know PERSONAL stories from owners before I stepped out and started test driving vehicles. I just don't feel I should get behind the wheel of one without knowing a bit about what to expect first.

And I had no idea they didn't have LSD's, so I've learned something new.

NO WAY! I figured Evo owners are die-hard fans of their cars. My neighbors have an MK5 R32 and a B6 S4. Both look fantastic. I just thought the S4 was way out of my league.

Re: Debating on a second vehicle.

The DSG is Doo Doo. Sexy car, but not for me. I may be a dad and all, but I don't need to shift like an old man. I don't mind traveling. I'd fly out and then drive the car back. The MK4 R is what interests me, but they are premium on the Vortex right now. The AWD is what I'm really after and some form of comfort.

Funny you should mention that, I just got a pm from a guy in MA about his and he wants to work something out. Looks legit, and I love the silver. We will see, I'm in no rush. Just trying to see what all is out there. I know they aren't all out fast and I'm okay with that. Having a high hp would be tits though. Just depends on the deals when I decide to pull the trigger. Everybody budges when you wave cash.

Something I've found from owning two performance cars, one for daily driving and one for weekending.

They both end up becoming projects, and then you'll find yourself wanting a third car so that you can race the one, weekend the other, and daily the third.

Do yourself a favor, buy a car that you CAN'T mod. (or I should say, really wouldn't want to bother).

Or just do a Passat AWD setup in the Corrado.. My buddy has an AWD 1.8t corrado and its pretty effin sweet, and not a terrible swap to do yourself.

Re: Debating on a second vehicle.

I've looked into the swap, not cost effective. I think the only car I wouldn't want to mod is a new Civic Si. I think they're pretty neat looking.

I'd just get a old pathfinder with a really good sound system.
or
Do what cardriverx did and get a turbo Saab wagon.

Any old subaru and leave plenty of cash for the corrado.

Re: Debating on a second vehicle.

You guys all have great ideas and points on this. The Corrado should be up and running this week, and then I'll be looking to decide on something.

Remember what comes with 2 cars is 2 insurance bill's 2 tanks to fill. 2 sets of problems at any givin time and 2 matinence bill's. I have 4 soon to be 3 cars under my ownership in my driveway, One of them is a DD and the other 3 are toys Thankfuly my ability to fluiantley work on 3 of thoes cars has eliminated my repair/matinence bills on them. It is not easy keeping up with 2 cars let alone 3 But it does make it easyer if you use one as a weekend warrior and have one for daily driving use.

I say look into different options. Why only limit yourself to an R32 and an Evo. What is wrong with a Forrester?
