Morning all. Lost 2nd round at the race in Delaware. There's a $10k race this weekend at Cecil, and then going to the Dover Nascar race that my girlfriend surprised me with tickets to go there.

Also does anyone know anything about Sherriff Sales? I found something that wouldn't be bad for a first house and future investment. Went to even look at it and seems good on the outside.

I've heard that sometimes when property is shariff saled there is old tax liens out there and all that jazz. There are alot of good deals but you can get yourself into alot of trouble if do don't know the tricks. There are tons of books out there about it. I'd get 1 or 2 to get a general idea.

don't attempt to purchase a home via a sheriff's sale unless you've got cash in hand... same with bank owned foreclosure properties

I still can't figure out how accidents happen on highways. All you do is drive straight and leave a gap between you and the car in front of you.

Right, cash in hand or cashier's check they would take. That I'm not worried about at the time, just trying to get more info. I've done research but it varies by county which makes it kind of difficult.

This is second hand information from a friend who took a few seminars regarding sherriff sale homes. My understanding is that you need to figure out why the county listed the home for sherriff sale. You need to do that because it can be put on sale for many reasons. The owner hasn't paid taxes, behind on the mortgate and got foreclosed, seizure, or many other reasons. If you go the auction when they sell the home, in addition to buying the house for the aution price, you will also have to pay all the outstanding taxes, leins, etc that might exist. It's not like just buying a house, going to settlement, and doing everything there.

You could try and get around trying to buy the house at the sale by figuring out who owns the house and buy it from them directly.

Good morning gang. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Jim do you plan on getting into the hauling business? I hear that the truck gets aweful mpg even though its diesel. If you get it will you install twin air horns on the roof? And if i ever ride with you can i say "we got a long way to go and a short time to get there" over and over again?

Of course you could ride shot gun and sing that. You're no Sally Fields, but you'll do.

I just want to get something big and safe for my old man to drive. His 88 F150 is starting to go, and i figure if im buying something, im doing it my way, the big way.

Jim, Julie and I were driving home from a friends grad/house warming party on Sat and saw the perfect car from you. It was a very old black Lincoln. I'm talking the hood alone was like 7' long. The sale sign should of said 'Pimpness for sale'.

12-15 mpg is not that bad for a big diesel like that. Jim definitely a good truck but repairs are expensive on diesels which have lately turned me away from them.

I remember us talking in the past about the expense of diesels, but I'm sure bang for the buck wise, it will last a lot longer than their gas counterparts.

I don't know too much about trucks but I would think desiel would be overkill unless you are using it heavily. The cost of ownership is really high from what I've heard.
