Thanks. I've been going back and forth trying to decide whether or not to get the 'ram-air' hood with the 'nostrils'. The hood I want is like $700- its a little larger than the stock ram-air hood.

My plans are:
Lower the car (it's 4x4 now)
4L80e automatic trans swap
DIY turbo setup

Sounds great man. I'd get the suncoast raptor hood or whatever if anything. My g/f hates the nostrils, she likes the "sexy" hood lol.

My girlfriend likes the nostrils haha. We can't compromise here. I'd rather put the $700 towards a turbo IMO

Nice looking car. Looks like you already have a healthy list of mods done. You planning on just flipping around manifolds or you going to make some tubular manifolds? If you need any help with the build/tuning then let me know.

Guesstimate of power would be 420rwhp 400rwtq

The passenger hump delete was because GM got lazy with the LT1 to LS1 generation changes. The LT1's had 4 catalytic converters- one of which was right under the passenger floor area. As a result, there is a raised 'hump' there that was not needed with the LS1 cars. But GM tried to save a few pennies and used the same uni body for both and changes some body panels, interior, etc. Although I do not sit there, the hump was really awkward. Without it, the passenger area seems normal and has more leg room. It was worth it to me. My friend and I knocked it out in an afternoon.

Rear bumper shot with stock wheels:

Hump delete pics:

In the second picture you can see how there was about 2-3" taken from in front of the support member. It dropped the floor to that level. Doesn't sound like much but the stock floor was really weird. Haha

That rear bumper is definitely the way to go on these cars.
I've never liked the hump while riding in my friends '02 ss. I've just never heard of a fix so wasn't sure what it took. Thanks for the sharing the info!

I am just tired of driving manual. A properly stalled auto and a turbo make for a fun ride!

Agreed. A lot of people under estimate autos in these cars. Definitely the way to go in my opinion. Really love the car.
