Thinking of getting a Droid X?

Just wrote up a review of the Droid X.

I appreciate a good tech review, and yours hits the nail on the head(I also don't believe they will sell as many simply because of how large it is), but have you considered short 4-5 minute reviews? Out of all of the websites I visit for tech that length of video is the most appealing and captivates the potential audience perfectly(as opposed to a 7-10 minute review). Overall, I give you 8 out of 10 androids.

Thanks! I've considered doing video reviews, yes. There are some things with these phones that are worth demonstrating on video. The only thing stopping me is time, and a new video camera / editing software.

In my opinion, it would sell less with a small screen. I think this is where "phones" are headed, around 5 inch screen, still pocket-able, basically mini computers.

Now what I really look forward to is for augmented reality to be developed.

The down fall of my BB is the smaller screen, the wife's curve2 has a larger screen but I'm cheap and choose to save a few bucks... mistake!
I think I'll be upgrading to something with a bigger screen sooner then later.

Meh - not a Droid (or iPhone - Apple Hater) fan. Nexus One...dead. The HTC Droid phones seem to be getting it right, though. Maybe this phone will change my mind, but the app quality for Droid can be dodgy, at best. Curious to see what the Windows Phone 7 plays out like, because I am getting bored with my Tilt 2.

Apps were made mostly because the iPhone sucks and can't support flash. The Droid can actually surf the web so I think apps are less important. I will give Apple credit over the quality of the apps, but the Droid is catching up rather quickly. I'd rock the Droid.

I did the big mistake of getting my droid phone, aka OG htc g1 and got windows phone htc hd2. I really would rather have my g1 just for the apps and how well the phone worked. This hd2 the windows on it sucks i think its like 6.5 or something I took it back to were I bought it guy said yeah we know of the problem you just have to wait for an update to maybe fix it?

Nice review. I'm really tempted to pick up the X. My plan made me eligible for upgrade the same day the X came out, but I wasn't sure. I think I'm going to go ahead and order it.

If you have a willing partner with a steady hand, one of the new "HD" handhelds is perfectly sufficient. I use a Kodak Zi8 and the quality is more than good for anything you'd host online. As far as editing software, honestly whether you have a mac or a pc, the basic editing software is fine for something like a short instructional video. Could you make it more fancypants with expensive editing software? Sure, but how much of a masterpiece are you looking for when it comes to website tutorials?

Good point - people aren't necessarily looking for high quality videos like cnet. Noah from phonedog does just fine with his videos.

btw, I've been using the phone for a couple weeks along side my original Droid and it's beating the pants off of it. I've been taking it with me just to use the browser and navigation.
