My friends car got rear ended by a cop that didn't have its lights on in Philadelphia, the car was totaled, and guess whose fault it was? It sure wasn't Mr. Police officer's.

this one's easy to spot as a cop though.
chargers dont have lights in the front grill (you can see them from far away even when theyre not flashing)

Or is there a huge double standard? Obviously he'd try to say you did it on purpose- but would that matter once the rest of the cops show up? I've never heard of someone getting rear ended and being at fault. Proving a "swoop and squat" is near impossible.. what would happen? I agree with you though, if he tried to give a ticket for a "brake warning," id be pissed too.
I don't even necessarily mean a full-out brake check -- I stopped doing those a long time ago, when keeping the rear end of my car in tact became a higher priority. These days, when I'm being needlessly tailgated, I just step on my brakes for a second or two -- not hard, and just long enough to guarantee that the person behind me has taken notice. And to (hopefully) send the message that they need to get away from me.

But if the person I do that to is an undercover cop .. and if that cop were to try to pull me over and issue me some sort of citation for having done that .. I'd completely flip out. You'd see the replays of me flipping out on one of those 'Wildest Police Videos' reruns, over and over and over, cause I'd go ****ing APE****. Because THAT would be some big fat horse****.

It may or may not be "entrapment" but i would have a field day fighting it in court regardless.

Cops arent supposed to break the law *speeding in this case* unless they are on the way to an emergency of whatever the priority level of the call was determines if they can speed/use lights or whatever. And if their gonna be "speeding" then they should have their lights on to warn other people. So if i went down for that ticket, the cop would be right there with me you can guarantee that. I dont put up with the bull**** cops can do whatever they want thing, and i see it happen every day, and im sure most of you do to even if your the kind of person who think cops can walk on water. The thing is i choose to notice that the cop is doing something illegal and it bothers me, most people are just like "oh he must have had a good reason to be doing 100 past me on the highway, i mean he didnt just want to go get some from his wife who might have just called him or anything..."

If a cop is doing something illegal, say trying to provoke you to speed, or "race" him then I would have to say that the cop is just as much in the wrong as you are.

That being said, I dont speed around chargers untill I get a look inside of the car lol

And id like to see a cop prove in court that you brake checked him and that a squirrel didnt just run infront of your car...good luck mr officer.

And I know 3/10 of the people that read this are gonna be like yea well i hope the cops dont help you when you call or some bull**** like that, but this is my opinion.

I hope these stories about cops causing accidents and not owning up to it are just, well stories. I find that highly disturbing.

I work at a tint shop. We do work for New Castle County, Homeland Security, the DEA, all sorts of officers. We've done everything from a old beat up taurus to a brand new STI. Within the last few months, it seems as if the cars keep getting newer and faster. Regardless of what the officers are doing, don't drive like a dumbass and you won't even have this discussion.

i agree, but then again, why is it that we cant have 0% tint but cop cars can?

rules are meant to be broken by cops, thats just how our society works.

Its entrapment and illegal. Its not illegal to use thoes kind of cars as police cars but going around driving recklessley and egging people on to race as an officer of the law is entrapment and will not hold up in a court of law. Out in cali for instance they use sezied cars from street races as police cars. If the car is mostley stock and up to par preformancewise (meaning no civics) and it dosent cost to much to make it Smog legal. They put it on there highway patroll units.

I beleave north carolina has a 350Z and a mustang cobra seized from street racing and turned into a patrol car.

The other reason i say its entrapment and a county wont take the risk of doing somthing this childish is, say if there doing it to you and insted of taking off for a race like most idiots do You slam on the brakes or give it a good downshift and they smack into the back of you..... Your going to be set for the rest of your life from the county the officer who hit you works out of.
