6/27/2010 South Jersey SCCA Autocross *Points Event #4*

6/27/2010

South Jersey SCCA's fourth Autocross of the 2010 Summer Season at our NEW LOT!

Location

This event will be held at our new lot in Williamstown, NJ right off the Blackhorse Pike near the Atlantic City Expressway at the following address...

1155 S Black Horse Pike
Williamsown, NJ 08094
Google Maps Link

Logistics
The below link has all of the info you'll need to attend this event as well as the dates for all of SJ SCCA's events this season. Rental helmets and instructor ride alongs (as driver or passenger) will be available free of charge and these events are rain or shine. Bring a lunch to eat between runs or when you are working and plenty of water because it gets hot out there, feel free to PM me or post here with any other questions you have that are not answered in the link below...

http://www.sjr-scca.org/solo.html

Registration
Pre-registration is up and at the link below, you DO NOT need to pre-pay so please DO pre-register if you think you'll be coming to the event and if you can't make it for some reason it's no big deal. If you don't pre-register and then you show up it takes a lot longer to add you and your car to the computer in the morning vs. if you preregister and can't make it we just need to hit delete and we're all set. The faster we can get everyone registered, the earlier we can start sending cars which may get you an extra run or two in

https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/cale...curyearindex=4

Here is a link to the forum, come say hello

http://www.sjr-scca.org/forums/ipb/index.php?

It's free to spectate as well so even if your car isn't ready for this much fun, come on out and check out some fast drivers doing their thing, hell if you want you can even come for the ride of your life in the Cobra

Here's a video from our event last August...

As a few guys have said, me driving with one arm is a lot better than most with two

The only reason I didn't drive at the last event is that I had dislocated the shoulder 2 days prior so there was still a lot of pain and I was hopped up on serious medication to deal with it (thus the seated ****ty drivers meeting).

The pain is all but gone now (other than when I'm in physical therapy) but I'm still in the sling so as long as Andre doesn't have any really tight corners I'll be a bit limited but fine

I have been wanting to get into autox for some time now. I won't be able to make it this months, but I most definably want to do this in July. I did few road coarse HPDE events, they were a blast, but it gets pricey. Autox seems to have that same thrill only for less. Having an instructor in the car seems to be a good idea, It would help me out, being first time doing this. Would the instructor expain what is going on, or would he just sit in the car and give pointers??

All the instructors are awesome and they help you out a lot with anything. You can have them drive your car or hey can ride shotgun and help you from turn to turn. Also at these events we have a few sti's and 2.5RS's out and most will help you out.Its always an awesome time and everyone is friendly.

Hope to see you soon out there.

Spanky did a great job of explaining it, we'll ride along or take you for a ride in your car to help you learn how to read the course and go faster

Come on out man we're the only region that will consistently get you 8+ runs in at our events and we're also known for having the most friendly laid back members which makes for a really fun day of racing and hanging with like minded gear heads

you'll be in ESP if you are stage 2 or SM (street mod) if you have a turbo swap

you could be in STU if you have an appropriate STU map...but ESP is very fun and competitive...right Ahren?

Boooo, I'll be at the Philly Event in Warminster.

How long are the courses? And how many runs have you been seeing this year? Last time I ran was at the CC.

at least 8 runs...last event we got in 9...10 isn't out of the question depending on how quickly the event moves along

the last course was on avg 39 - 40 seconds

with all of these runs the competition gets pretty tight since we get plenty of runs to learn the course

Hey I've gained some placed magnets from SJ over the past few years! It's smart to run solo in your class :P

I put 4.5k miles on my van in the past 1.5 months driving all over Jersey- Sorry F that place, I'm not going there on my days off! And if I did it would be to LBI. If they were still running Camden (like way back on the waterfront), or even the Community College I would think about it. Warminster is like 30mins from home unlike the 1.5 it takes me to get to Williamstown or Millville.
