First thing I learned in automotive photography from John Naderi... don't take photos of cars on grass (unless it's on a golf course and it has a prancing horse on the hood). Grass makes it look like your car is sinking and doesn't create nice reflections on the paint.

haha i was gonna put a disclaimer in about the grass shots, it was a reaaaaally windy day, and the background had this AWESOME looking flowing grass as the wind whipped across the fields, so i originally wanted to drive out closer to the field but then i felt bad (being as this is at an elementary school) but i absolutely agree, grass shots i feel are a weak attempt to make a car look lower

thank you for the criticism! i'm just starting out and i'm just kinda experimenting with different shots

edit: so i was looking up some tips and came across this site:

http://www.carphototutorials.com/tutorials.html

looks like i have a looooot of reading to do hahah

Personally Jarod I think you should call it a day on the exterior because it is perfect! That hood set it off.

I wouldn't even bother with that site. They focus way too much on post processing and not enough on taking a good photo out of the camera. I can't stand how much fake vignetting they (and many others) add to photos.

Learn the basics first then worry about post processing. Focus on composition, lighting, framing, vehicle positioning, background, camera settings, etc.
