Stfu espn!!!!

I am so sick of espn today. I'm home because I had surgery last week on my leg so I can't go to school or work. I turn on sportscenter this morning, as I do every morning and what do you know, more tiger woods. But, today is a "special" day, completely covering tiger woods ALL DAY. They had a huge obnoxious box on the left showing his progress through his golf match. I figured they would get to other sports eventually but they just kept going and going and going. I changed the channel. There was nothing on the entire day, I switch back to ESPN hours later and there are just interviews with random ass old dudes about tiger.. I just turned on ESPN again and same thing, interviews with old dudes. Turned to espn2 and the awful show sportsnation was on, talking about tiger. AHHHHH! lol I can't take when they do this.

Before Brett Favre was traded to the jets, ESPN was going CRAZY with it. I remember, I was on a cruise and pretty much all they had on the TVs in bars and random halls was espn and everywhere there was a TV was Brett Favres face. Well, if you took the time to read this entire rant, I commend you, as you must truly be bored.

Yeah it's true. And I hate this sportsnation show as well, it's awful with no substance and just talking of ochocinco every show. And they have men just shouting being obnoxious offstage the ENTIRE show. But hey, at least the chick is pretty hot.

I agree with the "letting it go" part but I think they were more interested in his return to golf. He tee'd off today for the first time in like 5 months and the way he played (at least IMO) was stellar. For a guy who's life that was completely torn apart he came out and showed everyone he still has what it takes to compete at the top. Although yes, overkill is a good term for this ESPN fetish of Tiger's, but I think it was a more return to golf topic for their overkill.

I do agree with you I think maybe just leading up to it was already enough for me that I couldn't care anymore by today. And another random but does anyone else despise Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay?? I want to punch Kiper straight in his stupid looking face. Why do these guys have jobs? My opinion in who I think is good to be drafted is no different then theirs, and it's not like the NFL teams are paying attention to THEM for the draft. If they were actually talented in scouting, they'd work for a team, not doing completely pointless mock drafts on tv. I just have a problem with sports analysis as a whole, no one can predict the outcome of games, I don't get why I watch.

Mel Kiper has been a draft analyst for ESPN for over 26 years. Him and McShay are both in contact with teams, agents, and players around the NFL. They are meant to give in depth understanding to why teams might draft a certain person and also evaluate a players faults and strengths for the network and report it to the masses. They also bring attention to small school players that have great talent but the general public might not know of them because their school isnt on TV every saturday. They also make more money working for ESPN than they would working as a scout for an NFL team

while you may not want to watch it. it's what the people want to see. there's a reason why espn is so successful

I'm not going to lie, I was really excited to see Tiger Tee off again.

That being said, I don't want to listen to the "oh I think he is going to struggle" blah blah blah. I can't stand sports predictions.

Maybe if we all put on fake lives in front of the camera and act like we're the symbolic icons of the world we'll get onto national television too. I don't see how anyone can root for tiger after knowing what kind of a dishonest person he is when nobody is watching. Honestly, if it was a normal guy walking down the street we would all curse his name, but since its him we all want to see him succeed now. I mean its a personal opinion, but its something to consider.

What he does in his personal life has no bearing on how people should view him as a golfer. Hundreds of pro athletes have do alot worse than just having sex with a bunch of people. Look at all the athletes accused of sexual assault. If it was a normal person that did what Tiger did, NOBODY would care

I understand that completely, and for the most part thats probably true. However, he was made out to be a role model for young kids and people all around the world. It appeared from the outside like he was the perfect person and a great family man. All i'm trying to say is that its hard to honor someone who didn't give that same honor back in return. Like i said, it's just an opinion.

Like you said, HE was made out to be a role model. America idolizes people that are at the top. And when it turns out that the person at the top has flaws, everyone wants to condem them for it. Tiger is just a regular person with exceptional golf skills. He's not a priest that should be held to a higher moral code than the rest of us.

Agree completely.

What Tiger is and has done in his personal life is his own problem. What he does on the golf course however, is something amazing. I root Tiger on because he's a great golfer and it's amazing to watch him play. What we now know hasn't really affected my outlook on him as an athlete.

Exactly,

In a year or so no one will ever remember that Tiger was a womanizer. Everyone will move on to "the next big thing" where who knows, they find out if Michael Jackson had a vasectomy right before he passed, Dennis Rodman is back plowing Carmen Electra again, or some other dude put his wang in someone other than his own wife. The media is like a crack addict. Always waiting for next time. Does anyone remember that at the start of this year, the godd*** Somalians were off hijackin ships?? No. It's because it's been out of the media's spotlight for sometime.......
