AP1 S2K Track Car - Carbon Fiber VINYL Wrap

Was posted by a fellow member on bimmerforums figured I'd post it over here.

"You hate it, you love it, I don't care. Just be respectful to the owner of the car
, if you want to post your negative thoughts and/or dislike of it. Wrapped my friend's entire track s2k in it, to be different and stand out from the rest of the cars, which it does exactly that."

"A lot of misconceptions. Am I trying to pass it off as real cf? No. Isn't adding weight to a car (with vinyl) bad? Whole rewrap probably weighed 25lbs, right around where a full repaint would have been.

Less talk, more pictures:"

Curious, whats all the swirl marks on the hood? Is it some kind of wax/polish?

Since someone else asked in the other thread, here's the answer... sort of.

Quote:
Did you have to scuff up the paint to apply that?
Quote:
No. The only reason he did that was because the hood's finish was a bit rough, so he smoothed it out before I applied the vinyl on. He does body work and parts here and there, so there was a lot of debris that got onto the car. I normally apply it onto straight/clean panels. Whole point of vinyl is its ability to be completely reversible, without any damage to paint.

15-20 hours? Not sure. Did it over a span of a month, when I had time, since the car's not even going to be running till summer anyways.

Very nice Don...now how much would something like that cost... in total? I assume around the same as a paint job due to the hours put in..
Yes, full car wraps are usually $2k+. It's good for those who ever plan on reselling their cars, etc.
