i have 3 internal drives in my system (500 1tb 750) and thinking about getting a smaller faster drive. my 750 is my boot drive, but its a WD green series, so its a bit slower spin time.

i always have the drive in my laptop bag. use it for music when i dj.

yah, i've got a 500gb for random storage and a 150gb velociraptor for booting and programs. i just ditched cable tv so now i'm listening to my music via my 360. but i need more stuff... and movies. thinking of picking up a netflix account to fill in some space

the velociraptor is a 10k rpm drive, right? how is it? theres a computer show in allentown this weekend, so i may pick one up. were you gonna get netflix for the streaming, or for mail service?

I would go for the mail service to make backup easier

def do the mail service, then when you rip a copy you are actually getting the full movie. Any streamed movie is dropping frames to be able to make it a quick download and or streamable. An HD (blu ray) movie plays at something like 40Mbs of information (at 29.9 or 30fps) so what they do is drop frames so you are really only seeing like 15 of those 30 frames a second.

I may pick one of those drives up. $160 isnt bad.

My drive, being the WD green series, trying to save power, spins to a max of 5400 rpm. itll spin as needed. the velociraptor maintains 10k, AFAIK.
