Need a shop who will install headers on an 03 GT

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a shop who will install Mac long tube headers and prochamber on an 03 Mustang GT 5 speed. Nobody seems to want to take this job hahaha. I'd do it myself but I just don't feel like it lol. I'd prefer a shop who has done it at least once before so they know what they're getting in to. Prices and approximate times it will take would be highly appreciated.

Well I've only tried mustang specific shops. I tried 422 motorsports and the guy was just like "nah....not interested in doing that." lol so apparently business is good for them. It's a PITA job honestly, not many people wanna mess with it. There's another Mustang shop around here that I'll leave unnamed, but I don't want to leave my car in their possession. Heard way too many bad stories.

Do they do anything with Mustangs? They seem pretty GTO specific.

I think they do all cars and if they don't he knows everyone and can probally point you to another shop. They just have a huge speciality in the GTO.

No DARE. Call Matt over at Import Intelligence, they actually had a cobra in there getting a TON of work done a couple months ago, and they did some work on my dad's 65 GT fastback.

If you want anything done, and done right, use Wicked Motorsports as Dan mentioned. Kevin is amazing. NO ONE else touches my Cobra. Let him know you know me.

Def would recommend these guys. Few people i know have had work done there, and I've never heard a bad thing about them.

My buddy had work done by Kevin as well and was very please especially after a few other shops messed up his car.

i'm kinda wondering why it's so difficult to find somewhere to get headers put on your car... no matter what brand or style or model of car, that's something that anyone with a lift or set of jackstands can do. at most you probably have to lift the motor off the mounts a bit for clearance. srsly, not hating on mustangs or anything, but it's just a regular car. it's not a Bugatti or something else super rare or delicate that only specially qualified people can do.

i dunno. my comment is obviously unnecessary, but i'm just really curious. seems like a bit much of an ordeal to find a special place to do it, that's all.

with Some stangs , the headers have to be installed from Under the car on a lift. i think thats how the headers are on the 03's thats why some shops wont do them

There's a shop called Evolution in Aston PA that specializes in Mustangs. They always have the sickest GT500's and Cobras outside.

It's not so much that it can't be done or anything it's just that you gotta drop the k member which entails basically disassembling the front brakes/suspension. It's apparently an 8 hour job I've been told by a few places so far. I need to get on the ball and start callin some of these shops. So far the cheapest I've been quoted is like $600
