Writing and sharing

Writing and sharing is my therapy. It helps make sense of daily stress that we face. I just wanted to post this here cause i have been spending a lot of time on TST learning about tuning but realized that its more of a community than just a garage.

Parallels

Yesterday I took my mom to a dr's appointment. This was the first time that I went with her to this Dr's office. I had never been there so I relied on her to tell me where it is. She was confused when we were in the area. I drove around a bit and finally she thought she found the office. I quickly parked around the corner from office. Once parked we started walking over to the building and she went in the wrong direction, it was as if she forgot where she was and which direction she needed to go.

I jokingly call myself a parent cause of my living situation. But yesterday, my sense of despair and frustration grew enoroumsly. It became to clear that my mom cannot hide her memory loss. At times I get frustrated and complain to her about the amount I need to do for her and my father. When I do this, she replies with "I can take care of things too, you do not have to do everything for us." But yesterday it was all to clear. That is not a real option. It's just empty words now.

But I want to parallel this to a parent having a child. A baby is born and it's a completely changing life moment. From that day forward you have to become selfless and do for your baby. Wth much struggle, thought, care, frustration, anger, pain and god knows what else, that small child grows. They grow physically and begin to walk then run. They grow mentally gain independence. With every passing day baby becomes a little more grown up.

It's this progress that makes me think that all that pain makes it worth it. Seeing that little clump of cells grown into a human being seems to make some sense to put your life behind their needs. But my struggle does not seem to have that pay off. There is no destination at the end of this road. My happiness will come at the expense of someone else, at the expense of the only 2 people that have truly loved me.

i am not sure what to call it. i guess the writing is a blog, but the sharing.....not sure how to categorize that.

if you think its misplaced here, i will delete it or ask the admin to do it.
