I don't know about everyone else, but I wish I didn't go. This was the worst D1 event I've been to. I've flown out to cali and vegas to see D1 events, and this was not D1. The organization and skill level at the even was unacceptable. With the exception of a few drivers it was mostly amateurs IMO. The "car show" was a joke too.

Also forgot to mention the MC was annoying as ****! :::Shakes head in disbelief:::

Very nice pictures though

You must be hard to please because the cars at the car show were well put together. The drifting I kinda agree with you but it wasn't the fault of the drivers but the track layout. There were numerous times that I saw being on the track that some drivers would try to pass on a drift in the corners but couldnt because the track isn't wide enough to do that and they would need to let off. 2 Days is not enough time for these better drivers to learn this course, but thats how D1 wanted it setup from what I understand.

Good drivers should need 2 runs to learn a three turn course.

I'm sorry but I'm going to be the one to finally call out that the new track at e-town totally blows, especially for big events. Why they didn't have this event at Summit Point is beyond me.

I think people now look at D1 in the US as if it was still 2005 where when D1 showed up, they showed up. Now you get no more than a handful of J-drivers, only a few of the Nopi guys who traveled last year, and then everyone else is local to the track.

I want to know who the announcer was because the first thing anyone mentions about the event is how awful they were.

If it is so easy to drift and guys should be able to learn a course in 2 days there would a hell of lot more bad ass drivers. The E-Town course is a road course and if they want to make it all out drift course they need to widen it, even for road it still needs to be widen. The course has been open 3 yrs tops so they are still learning, I think from the past two weeks with Redline Time Attack and D1, hopefully over the winter they widen the track. The J drivers I'm sure hated this course, they probably like the speed the can get going into the turns but its just not wide enough for them to go balls out in the turns during tandem.

I was over at the drag strip for musclepaluza and we tried to get into the D1 drifting but the line was stupid long and looked like a waste of time waiting in a line that wasnt moving at all.

agreed but i am still slightly in denial.. ive always loved e-town from when i was a lil kid and used to ride there so I'm slightly biased. But they need to invest some more money to changing the track layout. It does make drifting look boring.

We need a USA style Ebisu course with wide straights, and sharp elevation changes

Agreed....In 07 when they had D1 at e-town in the parking lot, it was even exciting. I went back and watched the option video from that event and realized how many good drivers were there.

I am not hard to please, but there weren't many cars in the car show. Yes some of the cars were well built, I guess I'm tired of seeing the same cars at shows lol. Trailer queens don't impress me. You don't think there are tight circuits in Japan? I've ran my car on e-town, and it is a bit narrow in some sections.

JDMuscle, I heard the MC say that, but I didn't hear what you said lol.....that's hilarious. I was over in the half ass VIP section. I was so disappointed with the event as a whole I wrote a complaint to D1....not really expecting a response though.

LOL yeah, Sweet vip section btw.....

I paid 30 bucks to "stand" and i ended up sitting on the bleachers anyway.

I couldnt tell what was so good about the VIP section... looked just like where i was sitting at.

PM me where you can write complaints, I have like 50 people from Driftpa that all want their money back

I wrote a complaint to info@d1gp.com i think, i also wrote to the sales team.

The event as a whole was a complete joke. Anyone who has gone to any professional event would have felt the same. Honestly, it felt like some local track day, not a professional series. The MC was annoying and terrible. The "VIP" was a joke and a waste of money. I think the better seats were the cheaper seats to be honest. The judges seem more worried about ending the event then anything else (no one more times). The car show small, you would think at D1 there would be a lot more cars.

I have never been to a D1 event before, but I have been to other events (Hyperfest, SCCA, NASA races etc...) and they were much more professional then what happend at e-town.

I went with McVicker, and a bunch of other people who all felt the same, and after watching the dvd of e-twon in 2005, I was complete disbelief. 2005 was on a completely different level of an event, and it was only an exhibition!!! I felt cheated out of my money.
