I've had it, to reconstruct my face AND fix a flaw, cleft lip. I will say this now. The pain you go through to fix something that was perfectly fine before and the possible complications after words do not make it worth it IMO. I was in more pain after the surgery than I was going into it, consumed everything through a straw for almost 3 weeks and lost about 20 pounds THEN.

It's like swapping out a bumper on your car with a JDM one to look better, however a lot more pain is involved and you can't swap it back if you end up not liking it, which is VERY possible to occur.

Definitely not worth it unless it is needed to correct an abnormaility or produce a proportionate appearance. Many people don't realize that a lot of plastic surgical procedures require touchup/redo's every X amount of years so that's a question you gotta ask. I hope you're not asking for you....seen your pics...don't think ya should change a thing!

i started this because a friend of mine is getting her nose fixed. she asked me if i wanted to get anything done while she was. in high school i got hit in the face with a softball that broke my eye socket, cheekbone, and nose and had stitches down my cheek so i already had plastic surgery so i know the pain involved.

Never had it, and don't plan on it. When I die, I want to rot like normal, not be half-o-skellie like our good friend Pam will be.

d00d I say no. I mean, my grandpa is a derm and his networking involves plastic surgeon friends and he said a lot of people swear up and down they only want one thing done then ten years later nothing on their body is authentic. Which is great for plastic surgeons, not so much for the body.

I'd say if an accident or something left you seriously deformed or if you're soooo self-conscious about something that you can't like look at yourself in the mirror and end up near suicidal, go ahead but otherwise, eh.

^ i didn't really have a choice, i would have had a 4 inch scar down the side of my face. and my friend isn't the one in the picture but she has a very similar nose. she's wanted it fixed for as long as i can remember, and i think she'll have a lot more confidence since she's constantly bitching about it.

tell her not to worry about it... but if her nose is like the one in the pic, that is just bone... they'll end up shaving it down and stitching her back up... i don't think any prosthetic parts are involved

so plastic surgery is cool as long as you don't stick fake s**t in your body?

Why so srs?

I think your friend should do what makes her happy, but au' natural is the way to be in my oppionion. We all have flaws. For all of you who are against, what about things like teeth whitening and dentures? Same principle, no?

i didn't say that at all

i'm just saying in her case, in my completely uneducated experience watching some stuff on tv and knowing just a little bit about the human body... that that part of the nose is bone and thus wouldn't actually require an implant.

i think there is a line that can be crossed with plastic surgery... i watched something on discovery channel before and a guy was getting calf "muscle" implants because he couldn't grow his at the gym due to genetics... that is too far, deal with it buddy... if you have abnormally small tits... ie you have none, go get some titties, put on some tight pants and hit the town.

****, i got my arm tatted up... one of the reasons i did so was because i find them (tattoos) visually appealing. so its not that far off from getting some **** done by a surgeon.

hell, i've got a deviated septum i've every so often thought about getting undeviated

Dad has some fake teeth because his real ones fell out.

Taylor, teeth whitening by using Crest Whitestrips or even professional dentist stuff is a lot less extreme than getting anesthetized and having parts of your body cut open.

Take care of your damn teeth. Mine are perfect.

Ken, there is no bone in the nose, just cartilage.
