how many months do you usually wait for your order to be shipped? lol. i completely understand the desire to buy in bulk to save money, but EVERY single place i've found to buy ammo online is sold out completely. in my case, only looking for .45ACP, the only place to buy it is at walmart or dicks sporting goods once in a great while when they finally get a handful of boxes in. in the last 3 weeks, i've only seen 5 boxes of .45ACP (no matter what bullet style, FMJ, JHP, anything). each of those boxes went home with me.

i keep checking gunbroker.com and all the ammo sites, especially midwayusa.com and cheaperthandirt.com and not once have i found anything that is a good enough deal. most of the crap on gunbroker.com is people selling in bulk, but charging WAY too much because it's in demand and all the other sites are sold out and backordered for months. midwayusa.com is sold out of WWB FMJ .45ACP and backordered until 11/28/09.

a box or two at a time wherever i can get it is the only way i'm going to be able to get a hold of anything, especially since i'm not independently wealthy and able to buy thousands of rounds at a time, not mtter what the cost is.

Midway has been really bad lately. But both Ammoman and Dansammo have inventory of 45acp. If all your looking for is range ammo and not a specific brand both places some choices. I just got an email today that AMMOMAN got a truck load of Wolf ammo in all calibers.

Check out their websites. The only list items they can ship. Ammoman and dan's do not throw you into a backorder cue. You can also check cheaperthandirt.com.

Cheaperthandirt.com is anything but. That site is one of the worst to deal with and if you just look around on the web you can find better deals on almost 95% of the stuff they sell.

the curved part in front of the trigger. it looks strange but it is quite urganomic and comfortable. it's a fun gun to shoot, nearly zero recoil. this is the gun the Secret Service carries, cept with the shorter barrel and full auto of course.

woohoo!! just found 5 boxes of .45ACP in the bechtelsville walmart. i grabbed 'em as the guy was putting them on the shelf. WWB FMJ for $29.98/100 round box. that's cheaper than i've found on gunbroker or the ammo sites. they're all selling 1000 rd cases for about $300-350.

every walmart i've been in for the last 3-4 weeks has had at least two boxes of .40 S&W. you guys who shoot .40 should make sure to go grab what you can find.

while i'm still not having much luck finding a few certain calibers online for reasonable prices, thanks anyway guys for the heads up on a few of those sites. i'll check them often!

Which part? Where I live or that you can come up and shoot in my back yard?

The red circle is my house, the 5 acres behind it is mine and all the land behind that is old unused farm land with nothing resembling a house or structure for miles. Not too many houses on my road, most of them are seasonal anyway and the people who do live on the road year round don't give a crap. Totally legal to shoot too, from sunrise to sunset (confirmed by a very nice NY state trooper who showed up one night, lol). Me and my buddies shoot back there all the time. When I build a new deck out back, I can't wait to see all the brass under the old one. Nothing special though, just a double wide, two car garage and old horse barn (ATV storage) plopped in the middle of nowhere (small lake across the street too). I have to take my own trash to the dump, no pizza delivery available, if I want to see Wal Mart I have to drive about a 30 minute drive........no traffic noise, no light pollution (you can see every star at night) and I LOVE IT!

As for coming up to shoot, I am serious about that too. It's a bit of a drive though, takes me about 5 hours to get back home to Bucks Co to visit family, but you guys are more than welcome up here any time. Nothing I love more than grilling out, drinking beer, shooting guns and having a big azz bonfire at night. Super low cars beware, gravel driveway, lol.

I do a lot of driving, so maybe five hours doesn't seem that long to me. Hell, when I get out of this dump, I will be attending a school in Arizona and I plan of driving my Z from NY to AZ and back, right before I move down to VA for a few years. Ahhhh.....road trip, just me and my car, no wife of kiddo, good stuff!
