Car donation?

Does anyone know how the car donation process works with purple heart?

Be careful with the tax write-off. Depending on your income level, claiming the donation might not do you any good. Before you file the claim check to make sure it's not screwing you out of getting more money back. This is what happened to a friend when she donated a car.

go on the website fill out some info have title and keys in hand and schedule a date for them to pick it up usually within three days. I couldn't use the two vehicles I donated at all but I let my dad put them on his taxes and I'm getting a few bucks back that way.

As did I! '91 jetta carat for 600. Loved it(for the most part) for the 6 months or so I had it until it suddenly lost oil pressure and gave out. Sold it to someone possessing a vr but never did the twain meet.

I just called them and they sent a truck in a few days to pick it up; I gave the guy the title, he gave me a receipt. I didn't do it for tax purposes, I just wanted to get rid of it and didn't want the hassle of selling a barely running car to somebody, so they said they're happy to take it. Since I itemize on Schedule A, it is listed as a charitable donation using fair market value.

i picked out a 95 escort 5 speed, ran good, until the oil light came on and i never checked it out, ran it at 100 mph with a half quart of oil. had a nasty knock but still ran for a couple more months, until it needed tires and inspection, i just junked it.

just don't donate it to 1800 kars for kids, it's a Jewish (I'm not antisemitic) organization, uses the money to push their religion on confused kids.
