quick clean ups

So after nearly 200 miles of driving this weekend, in the rain... and parking under trees... i've got some junk on the car. dead bugs, dirty water stains behind the tires, whatever stuff they used on the tires to get them "black and shiney", etc...

i was wondering, what kind of products would you recommend from Pep Boys or Autozone to clean these up? both cleaning products and wiping products

The only thing you need to remove bugs and debris from your paint is a claybar and wash soap. For a cheap solution Mothers clay works pretty good. For the rest of the car pick up some cheap wash mits and go to town but never use them on your paint to wash the car.

what do i use the wash mits for then?

what do i use to wipe down the dirty water stains from the rear of the car, will the clay bar take care of those as well?

Hey Ken,

The clay bar should take care of your issues, however, you must wash the car first. Clay barring the car will remove any surface contamination but will also remove any protection on the paint so it'll basically be bare bones after words and vulnerable to any future damage afterwords.

i may have a photoshoot after work this week for PAFirefighter11's company from: http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/...ad.php?t=84830

won't have time to wash it due to work and living in an apartment... but i'd hate to show up with **** on my car

maybe i'll take a peak at the thread Oakes posted in the general thread about washing a car and go pick that stuff up tonight and head over to my parents tomorrow right after work. i'm sure my 9 y/o brother who was with me for the test drive would love to see it anyway
