And when u are sitting at work wishing you could finally go home, he's already sitting at home watching cartoons... u do understand that its just a tradeoff right?

then I guess you would probably feel bad for me too then, since I actually work 8:30 - 5 + Mon-Friday... not shifts. Plus, factor in a 1-hour commute each way.

Only a little. I do work 6am-9pm everyday =( I used to do these hours + 2 hours commute for about 2 years before I moved into Philadelphia.

so why would u feel bad for someone who works substantially less hours than you, simply because its an earlier shift??

idk, its like people CHOOSE to work the 2nd shift, its not like the army where u are recruited and then told when/where u work. There is a tradeoff/benefit to working the 2nd shift.

If anything, you should respect him, but don't feel bad for him, he gets paid for his services just like you do. He just starts earlier in the day. NOt a big deal.

EDIT: I guess I'm only saying this because when I used to freelance, I would sometimes start work at 4am and work 14-16 hour days... If it sucks, you just quit. If its worth the crappyness, you keep doing it. SHouldn't feel bad for anyone though. imo

I used to work late nights once a week. Reason being is because I used to work at AAP, and our shipment of stuff would come in the morning, and there were a set of guys that would put it away at night. I found it to work out a lot easier this way, A) because you worked from 10 at night to like 6 in the morning. B) didn't have to deal with customers at all. C) got paid more, and were guaranteed to have the next two days off. Other then that, I usually worked from 1-9:30 at night.
