Looking to make my fridge...a kegorator. halp!

I have a spare fridge in my garage, and im looking to turn it into a kegorator. Does anyone know of an online place that sells a nice kit? Any recommendations?

i think there's a few different ways to go about making a kegerator. one way is just a regular ass keg of beer with a long tap on the outside of the fridge.
there's another way that involves a co2 tank and some other stuff, i forget how it's made but i think any local home brewing stores should carry all the stuff you need.

and pant the fridge some sweet asss color. flat back would be cool.

i've actually got three in there now. these are 5gallon soda kegs in a freezer chest. I assume you have a regular fridge and want to use a regular keg?

Scape, i was hoping you'de chime in here. I have a regular firdge/freezer combo. The firdge is on the bottome, freezer on top. Ide like to use a co2 tank, and a tap on the side wall of the fridge. Im thinking about using 1/6ths instead of half kegs. Its only me that will be drinking it, so i dont see a point in having a half keg in there. A 6 Lit would do me well I think. Thoughts?

Actually, maybe a 1/4 keg setup would work better. I think 1/4 kegs are easier to attain then 1/6ths

how big are the 1/6ths? do they require a standard keg tap thingamabob?

best bet is to go to Keystone Homebrew out by the montgomeryville mall and tell them exactly what you're looking to set up. they've got everything there you'll need to be up and running in a day.

you'll drink more beer than you normally would since you've got it on tap. at least starting out... i was drinking every night... 3-4 pints because i could... for the first couple months. eventually the novelty wears off.

I suggest getting two co2 tanks too, be warned as they are, IRC, $95 a piece. refills are $17 or so. nothing worse than running out of co2 when you've got people over... happened to me, it sucks.

Thats the problem with the 1/6ths. They require a smaller tap then the 1/4s and 1/2s...So if I keep a 1/4 of beer for myself but for some party need a 1/2, ide need to have 2 different taps on hand to switch from the 1/6th to the 1/2. Hope that made sence? I think im going to look into this more. O I already have one CO2 tank, with a pressure gauge.

i'd go with whatever one can use the same tap... or i'd get more than one keg... i'm pondering on the logistics of having 4 soda kegs. I still haven't drilled my freezer chest for bar style taps... when i move out that will be in order. till then, i can deal with lifting the lid.

post pics when its all done

come get my beermeister for free. it's wood grain ftw just needs some new hinges. i'm sure something could be done fairly cheaply. it has a tap on top already. pick it up before i throw it out.
