Matt's Z06 build

Greetings,

I currently have a build thread going for my NSX but im STILL waiting on parts to arrive from Japan so figured I would start a thread for my '02 Z06.

The car had the following mods when purchased:

LG Pro long tube headers
3" catless x-pipe
SLP loud mouth exhaust

CCW classic race wheels
18x11/18x12
ACI front spoiler
Dynotune nitrous kit
Small stereo

The goal with this car is to have a reliable daily driver during the Summer. I don't want anything over the top, just clean, quick, and simple.

(a few pics from the previous owner)

So far I have replaced the rockford fosgate 10" sub with an Eclipse 6010 sub and redone the nitrous system. The car originally had one white 10 lb. bottle mounted in the trunk. This took up valuable trunk space and didn't flow with the car. I just finished up installation of a dual bottle mount between the seats. Both bottles match the exterior and are much easier to reach. I still need to install the blow down tubes and install pressure gauges but so far im pleased with the results. I also still have room on either side if need be.

Matt

(looking back from the drivers seat)

(view from the front)

(side shot-doesn't take up too much room)

Thanks guys,

LOL, at the nitrous comments. I've only used the nitrous once(on the drag strip), definitely nice to have if need be. I'd love to go FI with the car but just can't justify it as I don't drive the car hard on a regular basis.

Awesome car, would love to own one. C5 Zo6 are an amazing bang for the buck track/fun car in my opinion. What did you end up running at the track with it?

I agree. I'm more of an import/euro guy but had the chance to drive one and was really impressed. It gets 28-30 mpg on the highway and does well around town. I ended up running 10.8@134 on street tires and was booted from the track, lol.

10.8@134!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GTFO

I would haven never expected the car to be that fast. I was expecting it in the 11's but shocked you broke 10's. What kinda tire your running? Any other mods that you didnt post?
Please pot more pics of the actual car when you can. The ones you have posted look good but are to dark and hide the body lines of the car.

Yea i figured a bolt on Z is low 12's, good driving/ good tire will break 11's. Never gave thought past that how easily they could get into 10's though. What got me was that he said it was on street tires so i'm curious what kind as well as how big of a shot.

Like i said earlier there amazing cars and a great bang for the buck. I'm more of a import guy but a huge fan of any f-body LS series motor car. Hopefully own one of some sort down the line.

I'm running Michelin PS2's in 335/30/18 on the rear. Running 295/35/18's on the front(not that it matters).

Also, the bottle bracket is made by Jeniko. It's pretty cool, you pull two pins and the bottom of the bracket is actually a handle so it makes it really easy to mount.

Very Impressive. I remember my first ride when my Uncle got his 04 Z06. It was scary fast for me. Now he has an 08 Z06 and I'm very excited to see what the difference another 100hp makes. Its awesome just how fast these cars can go while still turning high 20s mpgs on the highway.
