Meh, I build this for myself, to have a car that I can enjoy, not to please someone else, I think a large part of the community forgot that line of thought. It seems a lot of people are just doing things for the sake of doing them, and trying to out-JDM, out-power, and out-style other people, I on the other hand don't care. I mod it a little and have a lot of fun, when I want more, I add more.

Not saying you were implying anything, but that's my line of thought. At the end of the day, I'm the one driving the car and it's a ton of fun to start so I'm slowly working my way through.

I agree but I never take it to big shows like SEMA, NOPi, etc. I take it to local shows, mostly with classic cars, and surprisingly the car gets love from the older domestic crowd, everyone seems to know the Miata from when it first came out and are boggled by it being turbocharged. I never really expect to win anything, but I DO like showing off my car, as stock as it may look, makes me feel nice when I take it to shows where it seems like it shouldn't even be allowed to park with the rest of the crowd and people love it anyway.

NB IMO is the best. I was so determined to get an NA because I liked the look of flip-up lights, but the NB is basically the same car refined. Interior isn't changed much except for new materials and smoother flowing lines, outside is similar, it's still light, around 2400lbs or so for the non-Mazdaspeed, and has more power than the NA, plus if you get a 99 or 00 they have Variable Valve Timing, but the 01-05 has the slight facelift, pick and choose. NA is cheaper to mod though, and cheaper to replace parts because so many more are out there, you can get engines for dirt cheap, or if you wreck it, buy a shell for like 1000-1500 and transfer over, great for racing because of that.

S2000 is great too but the Miata is great for a first RWD car, it's very forgiving and easy to drive at the limit, the S2000 being more powerful is more snappy.

I love both, but I still went for my MSM because of ease of driving, an older and more mature community, price, reliability, upkeep, rarity, and insurance rates. I'd get an S2000 but I'd have a hard time parting with the Miata, and keeping both wouldn't be a good choice.

"and has more power than the NA"
It has 7 more horsepower then the NA 1.8, and weighs 300 pounds more...not really the best trade off.

well my problem is i have alway had an affinity with miatas and really really wanted an NA miata (mostly because of CE28N's miatas, which are referenced), but then moved onto NB's after i found i could find them for under $7,000

NA FTW

Although NB does look hot

But S2000s have always been amazing cars, especially once some minor suspension upgrades were performed.

of course this would just be a second car and not a daily. Keep the S4 as a daily.....

snappy might be good........................... S2K is looking good

The later year NA had 133 horsepower, but certainly didn't weigh 2100lbs. The NB also has a lot of refinements, inside and out. Stop coming into my journal and nitpicking waiting for an opportunity for some smart-ass comeback.

Here wise-guy (motorvated), just for you.

97 (Last NA): 133hp, 114 torque. 2293lbs
99 (First NB): 140hp, 119 torque. 2299lbs

Good call on that one . Now walk out of this thread and don't come back in, your 2 cents are not welcome here.

now when you swap a 1.8 into a 90-93 and lulz at how angry and offended you get.

Angry? No...Offended? Hardly.

I'm just tired of your constant smartass remarks and useless presence on the forum, I'm not alone here. I see you look in here now and then, waiting for something to reply to to try to make me look dumb..HA! That's great, trying to rag on other people's decent cars to make yourself feel better.

In plain and simple English, don't like it, don't reply, I, not anyone else that follows this journal and helps me with my car care what you say, or what you think, or if you exist on this site, period. You're a lying, contradicting, and misinformed person who unfortunately drives the same car I do, and it makes me feel worse about owning a Miata because coming into it, I imagined the community being mature and well informed, but I guess those few apples grow on every tree.

I'm done with you and your immaturity, you've been asked not to post here from this point forward, I'll just flag further posts for the mods to handle, I don't need you cluttering my thread with your nonsense and off-topic banter.
