I got a acomdata external hardrive case for $30 from compusa. then got a 250 gig hardrive for $100 and stuck it in it. it is Usb 2.0 and comes in firewire as well. so it is fast. i turn it on to back stuff up, then turn it off. then i know my stuff is safe.

i looked on there site and could not find the case, but they have it in the store. here is another good deal on : http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...855&pfp=SEARCH

Please, whatever you do, buy a name brand drive from a reputable computer store. Tigerdirect.com, newegg.com, best buy, circuit city, etc.

And stick with name brands. Maxtor and Seagate are you BEST choices and honestly, aren't any more expensive than some no name brand that ends up having one of the heads collapse after a week. Other brands you could include is Western Digital and Hitachi, but I recommend a Maxtor or Seagate. 7200rpm w/ 8mb is pref and will make a difference on a solid machine.

just a link
