Nice. I'm pretty jealous, the 5d "WAS" going to by a gift to myself, but i just couldn't fit it into my budget with needing a new laptop. But hopefully in a year or so I will get the 5dmkii. but we'll see.

the shots look sharp, but i know you can do better, once you get past the giddy new equipment faze

they look better at full size, 4xxx by 3xxx or whatever the hell size they are, haha. the files are freakin huge. plus, it was cold, all handheld and some of the shots @ 200mm were shot at 1/125 or slower. as for the 70-200 f2.8, i loved it on my 30D but it really shines on the 5D. go for it.

composition, what the hell is that? ha, yea i was really giddy and just shooting what i saw for the most part. on some of the stills i tried to do better at framing the shots properly but on the shots of the birds i was doing my best to get close, and still enough, to not scare them away. it's raining out now or i'd go out and shoot the frozen trees.

you might also want to check out a grid focusing screen. (CN Ee-d) They are like $35 and help considerably. i picked one up for the 40d and love it!!

i gotta be honest, i did think about that but i just havent done it. maybe after i get rid of some of these batteries i have. i got 5 with the camera and 3 are brand new lol

sell me some batteries and you should get the grid focusing screen. i have it in mine and it really helps to try and keep things level while shooting
