that's a nice photoshop. did you just blur the background slightly and up the brightness of the car?

I was still just shooting on auto like was recommended. I have not had enough time to read the manual on changing the cameras settings.

I actually dont even like the blur, but i felt it needed a little.

It's cropped w/ a levels, curve, color balance, and a hue and saturation layer.

Shoot in auto focus, but get out of auto mode. I'd recommend shooting in aperture priority mode or 'A' on the little wheel. You should definitely read up, even on some of the sticked info here to get a better understanding of the camera.

Helps to know how to use it. For the CP to work, the sun needs to be at a 90 Degree Ang to the subject...

Not entirely true. How about when your using it to take the glare off the windshield of a car?

This was shot directly in to the sun..

The light is going to hit the lens from many points because there are so many surfaces on the car. It is going to be a balance.

Sometimes I would rather have glare on the winshield than on the paint. People kind of expect it.

I'd rather have no glare on the windshield and no glare on the paint, but that's just me.

I think the new photos are a nice improvement. FWIW the car looks great, the background is what is lacking. Try AV mode and lower your fstop, you'll be able to get better separation between your car and the background. I think with some bokeh you'll have some really nice shots.

There are many situations where you should use a CP filter for various reasons and they do not all follow the same principle that you state.
90 degrees to the sun is especially good for deepening the color of the sky. if you have a wide angle lens it will only deepen part of the sky.
I use a CP filter to remove images from LCD's for my interior shots, also to reduce the glare off windows.

Heres a few more. I think they look good, but the lighting was real harsh, and i had trouble removing alot of the glare. Thoughts?

try shooting late in the day, preferably around 7-8ish now. and watch for stuff "growing" out of the car.
