I think that accident may actually be a different one that was being twisted by a rumor. A member of my Fire Company's brother was stopped along Rt. 38 in lumberton monday night and was hit by a big rig and killed, his fiance was with him.... I have not seen or heard of any other people killed by big rigs on 38 right ofter getting out of a car with their fiance's this week but I could be wrong.

I saw a memorial group on facebook for that guy (the one who hit the girl) so I'm pretty sure it was him.

in that case Although I do feel to an extent that he got what was coming to him we need to keep in mind that it does not just affect him. He has a decent sized family that is very upset and heart broken by this tragedy, In general people need to remember that deaths don;t only affect the deceased. I know I am not the only one on here who has lost a friend or loved one, and it sucks royally for the family. If I found out my sibling was hitting his girl I would be angry with him, if he got arrested I would say it served him right, but if he got killed I would be devastated because no matter what someone has done, family is family and it sucks to lose a loved one.

It was good to see the police getting those that drive stupid. Maybe it'll cause offenders not to show up at all.

"LUMBERTON -- A Medford man crossing Route 38 was killed Monday evening after being struck by a tractor trailer, police said.

Daniel Angelotti, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. Authorities said Angelotti was walking across the highway when he was hit by a westbound tractor trailer driven by William Linville of Alabama.

Police said Linville saw Angelotti step in front of his truck, but was unable to avoid hitting him. No charges have been filed, but the accident is under investigation, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact the Special Investigations Unit at 609-267-1111."
