Hey all,
I figured I should start a member journal on this car since I plan to keep it for as long as I can (which is rare for me). I've wanted a car pretty much in this EXACT configuration (color, options, etc) for a LOOOONG time.
The ultimate long-term goal for this car is to do everything, and do it well...
-Highway cruising
-The occasional stop-light drag or highway roll
-Drag Racing
-Road course
-Auto-X
-Look good
-Be comfortable and easy to drive, anytime, anywhere, with anyone, for any reason.

Info about the car...

2002 C5 Coupe 6MT - Electron Blue Pearl (color was only made 2001-2003)
Bought in March with 29k miles on the odometer from the original owner (Currently has 33k)

Factory options (Pretty much all options but both tops but I'll list em, copied from Corvette Registry)...
-1SC Package includes...
* Custom Adjustable Sport Bucket Seats
* Power Passenger Seat
* Dual Zone Electronic Air Conditioning
* Front Fog Lamps
* Drivers Memory Package
* Rear Luggage Shade/Parcel Net
* Electrochromic Inside & Left Side Outside Mirrors
* Head Up Display
* Twilight Sentinel
* Power Telescoping Steering Column
-Memory Package
-Power 6-Way Driver Seat
-Child Seat Tether
-Parcel Net
-Floor Mats
-Removable Roof Panel Blue Tint
-Deluxe High Polish Wheel
-Stereo System Delco-Bose with CD
-Remote Compact Disk Changer (All Models)
-Selective Real Time Damping, Electronic (F45)
-Sport Suspension (FE3)
-Performance Handling Package Includes...
* Larger Diameter Sway Bars Than Previous Years
* (Included With FE3 Sports Suspension)
* Power steering fluid cooler
-Six Speed Manual Transmission

(Wow, after looking it up on the registry even I'm amazed at all the stuff)

Pics of the car stock below (from the day I got it - Still has old owner's plates on it) and some pics with my dad's Vette...

And I'll post the first update right away...

The car was lowered with a Zip Corvette bolt kit on wednesday. I'll be installing tires (Nitto NT05s) and getting an alignment Friday and will post pics after.

Thanks sir. Ordering ATE Fluid for the Brakes and Motul for the clutch tomorrow... as well as some XP10s for the front and XP8s for the rear.

You can find older Vettes with higher miles (which miles don't matter much on LS1s) for like 13-17k now, like the 97-00 style (look the same outside. but have a diff intake, cam and such - few little interior parts are diff).

Get the Motul 600 RBF, its a very high quality fluid. 2 bottles should do your brakes once and the clutch a couple times if you have a speed bleeder on the clutch slave. IF you don't have a speed bleeder on the slave just get the Castrol LMA for the clutch cause you'll be swapping it out on a regular basis and that will get expensive with RBF.

Castrol LMA it is. *edit* - They didn't have it where I was ordering from so I'll pick it up locally.

Also the Vortech Supercharger I had for the Mustang (which is sold) sold today. $1500 moar for vette parts!

Is the ZO6 titanium exhaust really worth the money for your car? My neighbor is trying to find one and i told him it probably wouldn't be that much of an upgrade (power and sound wise) for the money spent. I seen the mod you can do to it but i don't personally know anyone who welds titanium and after spending the money for that i still don't see it being worth it. Maybe you can fill me in.
Thanks

It's honestly IMHO one of the best buys for the money. However keep in mind if you're buying an exhaust purely for LOUD sound, a Z06 exhaust is a waste as it's not a lot louder than stock (unless you buy Long tube headers).

However, you can buy em used for $350-400 usually, theyre titanium so theyre very light, and they flow MUCH better than stock C5 exhausts.
There was some test a while back that showed they outflowed like all but 1-2 aftermarket exhausts (and at $350-400, cost a ton less than the average cat-back which is usually $700-1000)

Fran from Race Proven (one of the best tuners of corvettes on the east coast) told me he's seen MANY guys make 800+ on a Z06 Ti exhaust.

There's a guy right now IN PA selling his Z06 Ti on corvetteforum.com - tell your neighbor to check it out.
If he wants sound... my buddy Jeremy (Sea Five on corvetteforums) is selling his Borla Stinger cb for $400 as well....

In my head i only thought the lightness from titanium was why it was worth it. My neighbor isn't looking to gain a lot of horsepower just wants it to sound a little better. I forget if he's getting headers but if he does i guess it will be fine then. My only thing is i can have him an exhaust made for only a little over the price of buying whatever mufflers he wants so to me buying any exhaust isn't really worth it. I will check with him again and see exactly what he wants and check back in if anything changes. Thanks a lot for your help.

Seven is right the Ti exhaust is pretty hard to beat in terms of cost/performance. Guys are pushing well into the 800whp area with them.
they weight next to nothing too, its like 13# total for both sides.

My car had B&B bullets installed when I got it. they weighed about 40# all together plus they were loud as hell and would drone on the highway.
I switched to the TI's and saved almost 30# and didn't lose a single pony. The weight savings is after the rear axle, so there is a real performance advantage there, thats why GM made the OEM exhaust so light in the first place.

the stock exhaust is a little on the quiet side even with LT's, X-pipe & no cats, so I had the Ti bypass mod done and it sounds sooo good now. My buddy Nando (PA Z06 on here) has the hookup for welding Ti.
