Just wanted to see if any knowledgeable people are free tomorrow and want to see if they can help me figure out where the hell this mysterious hissing noise is coming from in my engine bay. Possibly a vaccuum leak, possibly worse... I really dont know at this point.
I borrowed Wil's pressure tester but I dont have a compressor so if anyone has portable air that'd be sweet, or maybe we can go somewhere else.
Anyways I'll be doing some stuff on the car starting early afternoon so if anyone wants to swing by then post up and I'll get you my info.

apparently walmart is selling a 2 gallon compressor for $22

nice, thanks for the heads up. i'll use it for this and for autox (is 2 gallon enough to add 10 lbs of air x 4?
anyways i just figured it'd be cool to meet some new guys or hang with some old ones i havent seen in a while. the invite is still open whether you think you can help with the leak sound or not.

i have a tip bryan.
get a long wide hose, and hold one end to your ear and probe your engine bay with the other end
that will help you big time

It actually sounds kind of cool and I think you should leave it alone, lol.

Most importantly, do you feel like it is slowing or bothering the car any....

If I remember I'll bring my stethoscope.

ok so correction on the compressor thing, i was picturing a portable one because of the size but this isnt, but it sounds like it'll be nice for pressure testing as well as just filling up tires and whatever else so i'm gonna go try to pick one up at that price.
i'm also thinking of picking up a different turbo because i'm skeptical that the turbo is the culprit here.
but yeah the car pulls find, the idle is just a tiny bit rough during a warm startup. the rpms should settle at 750 but they like to dip to 500 or lower and you can hear the car stumble. one night out of the past 60 my car died 2x in a row. other than that, no major problems.

Keep the turbo, replace the plugs.....
