OMG, lets argue about radiators!

Troll, carry tools with you for the next week or so after a major project like that. You never know when you'll need them.

I always carry tools with me. I bet that scared you when you found out it was the lugs, haha. And who cares about radiators? I highly doubt Troll would cheap out on a radiator after spending a **** load of money on a project like this.

There's a lonnnnng thread on SupraForums about how the car is a dick magnet... haha. I mean siiiiigh.

And as an update, I boosted her tonight for the first time just on wastegate pressure... I have a 1 bar spring in my EWG and the goal is to run 18ish psi on pump gas... well she's hitting about 22 psi and I only took it up to 4500 rpm so thats not gonna work out. Going to have to pull the damn EWG out which is a bitch, and put a lighter spring in it, then see where things are.

How did it feel boosting it? Well... haha... let me quote myself on that one to help illustrate things...

Troll: so... i have traction issues
Troll: 60mph rolling burnouts?
Barry: wait
Barry: what
Barry: sick
Barry: ride now
Troll: haha
Barry: come pick me up
Troll: pete was in the car and i'm like ok we could do a 4th gear pull
Troll: but lets try 3rd
Troll: 3k rpm nothing
Troll: 3.5k rpm nothing
Troll: 4k it hits hard and the car just starts sliding into the other lane
Troll: i didnt realize what was happening at first but when i did i got out of it
...
Troll: pete and i are both just sitting there like what just happened
Troll: we're such AWD guys
Barry: haha

And to anyone who's worried, believe me, I'm very aware of the power of the car and that RWD and AWD are very different... I know what it feels like a little better after tonight and the rest of the drive I was more tuned in to things. Broke the tires loose once or twice after that intentionally and expected it, and kept things straight.

I'm honestly surprised that the car will just break 295s loose at 50+ mph without any traction at all... its kinda confusing to me right now as to how thats useful at all, haha. I'm amused though, still have a grin on my face.

I'm not 100% familiar with this but I hear some people run a "boost by gear" setup so they can run max boost in the appropriate gear and still get traction, like say 10 in 1st, 15 in 2nd, etc.etc. I'm pretty sure some tuning programs have it built in but again, not 100%.

May be something useful to stop the spinning issues.

^ I cant find exactly what I'm looking for, but I was talking about this with someone. I'm pretty sure the Honda guys are one of the crowds that have something like this that work with Hondata (eCtune????) that you can set how much boost comes when and where. I'm pretty sure you can do it with most standalone softwares though.

edit, I think this is kinda what you're talking about HKS EVC

Well, the AVC-R does boost by gear, but I don't have some unique setup or anything so I think the first step is taking the time to learn the car and know what its going to do. I'm obviously not going to drive around mashing the throttle all the time so I just need to learn the thresholds in each gear and massage the power to the ground.

yeah I understand. I was going through that stage when I first got my boosted MR2. Even though it wasn't anything close to what you're dealing with, it was still new to me in the same respect. You're right though, it's just going to be a learning experience. A fun one at that!

I know some guys roll around on drag radials all the time, and thats a thought... but I'm not gonna get ahead of myself. Gonna work on the mod behind the steering wheel first here...

Congrats Troll cars looking great, we met last year at the Englishtown Supra meet I have a Green 97. As far as a tire I would suggest drag radials (MT or BFG )work well for the street and some light track days. If the weather is nice I hope to make to the Sonic meet see you there.
