He almost had 93 mph on his best run which COULD be fast enough. Not always but its a pretty close estimate. For ever tenth you lower in your 60ft you drop 2 tenths in the 1/4. Its not an exact science but it will only help. His car is also lighter so his mph won't have to be as high.

I'd be willing to bet money with the no spare, 1/4 tank of gas, good air, and a 1.9 60ft he could crack a 13.9XX.

Yea if your going to track, get some slicks or something. Street tires don't get as hot as you think and is pretty much a waste to do pre racing burnouts in.

Most do...depends on the compound. Some street tires are softer than others.

Get some bfg dr's and call it a day.

I think with the current tires I can do 2.0 60 foots. Don't want to buy DRs because drag racing isn't really a huge hobby of mine so spending the money on extra wheels and tires and a tow hitch and small dolley to take them to the track just isn't worth it for me.

Put DRs on your stockers and drive to the track on them.

Why not? Your car weighs nothing and makes no power/torque.

Just when I think of a DR I think of this

I don't really have a need for them, I can definately do 2.0 on these tires.

Ehh, It will be more fun to go a few more times and actually learn how to launch on regular tires, plus more rewarding in the end.

I may try to go back say next week. With no trunk and less fuel I think I can drop the weight down to 2660 or so with driver, maybe less, and if it's a bit warmer and I can launch right and hit a 2.0, even a 2.1, I will definately be in low 14.4s

What happened to what you said a few weeks ago? About how your not worried about your 1/4 time, and you dont like to drag race. You said your cars not built for the drag strip, and you could care less how fast it is. Now you want to buy parts and get new tires to put you in the low 13s?

Not everyone has a carpeted garage, in fact some of us don't have a garage at all. I'd rather blow my back and do my own work than take it to someone else to wrench.

Yeah.....he didn't say anything like that. Everyone else is telling him to get drag radials and he's been saying that since he doesn't consider drag racing a hobby of his, it would be a waste of time. Jeez, hop off.
