Your videos are right on!
I thought the last one looked like it came from a 5D, now I know...It has a very distinctive look. The night stuff on it looks great too. Is the lowlight performance on it that much better than the XH-A1?

It's a tough comparison. The 5D is definitely "cleaner" than the A1 in low light however the noise it does create is very unusual looking, where as the noise in the XH-A1 is mostly luma noise (not chroma or "colored" noise)- which lends itself to looking more like film grain. The XH-A1 is fully controllable manually- where as the 5D is strictly all auto (with the ability to lock exposure if need be). I always shoot in full manual with video or stills so it takes some getting use to shooting with the all-auto 5DmkII video mode. With the manual controls on the A1, in 24f mode, I can halve the shutter from 1/48th to 1/24th to gain about two stops. You can't do that with the 5D. Overall I think the A1 is a better performer in low light for those reasons but the image on the 5D subjectively looks better even though it tends to crush blacks a little too much and lose shadow detail. PS I"m shooting with the 5D's contrast turned all the way DOWN and the blacks are still very overpowering.
