Those cars dont cost alot just cuz they are fast, its the feel of them, the build quality, and the image u get. With cars like ferraris and lambos, its more about having an italian exotic than about being the fastest thing out there. Theres a whole aura that comes with it. and thats really what ur paying for. Yes they are fast. And stock for stock nothing will touch them. But in this day and age when mods are cheap, its not that hard to make a cheap car go faster than an exotic. However, u still dont get the status that u do if u have an exotic. I drive my dad's 996 Carrera from time to time, and yes, my car is faster, but the porsche has a much more solid refined feel to it

EXACTLY! your buying not just a car, but into a lifestyle. I never understood what exotics were all about till I spent the afternoon driving one.
I personally would rather have a $20-$30,000 car that was a all out race car that I could beat on, break, fix and repeat again and again improving the performance each time... that too is buying into a certain type of lifestyle. It all depends on your means and what experience if more fulfilling to you. Maybe when I'm older I'll go for a true exotic... for now I want seat time.
