i got a lens my dad used to use, a tamron 28-300 3.5-6.3, but i have been thinking of grabbing the nikon 70-300 vr. i understand the different range of zoom with the two.

my question is, will the tamron's full zoom at 300 be equivalent to the nikon's full zoom at 300?

like if i was to zoom in on an object, would both lens give me the same image at full zoom, or would one lens get even closer/tighter on the object at full zoom/300mm

300mm should be 300mm. Which one is sharper at 300 could be a different story though.
