HELP! CF Hood Problem

so i just got an AMAZING deal on an oem carbon fiber hood.

i couldnt wait to put it on so i just got home and took my hood off.

when i put the cf one on, the bolts went in but wouldnt screw. i thought stripped or no threads, but there are threads.

my stock bolts are just ever so thinner than the threads on the hood. anyone else have this problem, or know how i could get an accurate size of a bolt so i dont have to bring the hood to home depot tomorrow.

one more thing.. any certain bolts i should get, to avoid rust/breaking bolts?

thanks alot guys

Just go to your garage and find that pile of bolts and screws and try until one fits? Everybody has a pile of bolts somewhere.

it can crack the clear. it can also damange the weave. it can also take a chip out of the hood itself. I have a hood that I can show you what happens when cinder hits c/f.

It wont.

Salt/road grime does not cause the fading of the gell coat on Carbon Fiber hoods. The fading is caused by direct exposure to the sun.

There is NO WAY to prevent it unless you DA the stock crappy gell coat off and spray a few coats of quality clear coat on the hood. 10 minutes after taking my brand new seibon hood out of the box.......it was in the paint booth getting re-cleared. Thats the only way to insure it will stay looking fresh.

thats what i was gonna say, its the sunlight that fades the CF not the salt and road grime.

I was talking about the damage from the rock salt due to scratches and putting marks in the c/f. not about the clear coat fading.

*edit*
in fact I didn't even say anything about sun fade.

sorry everyone i explained it like an idiot...
i was wondering if cf hoods were supposed to come with other bolts. ill end up just having to take a bolt into home depot and trying to find a slightly bigger one.

was hoping someone had this problem before, and maybe knew the exact size of bolts. sorry for confusing everyone i guess.

and sorry its the worst post ever. i thought this site was supposed to be helpful if people are confused about something. weird.
