I wish I was still in 8th grade so I could do it all over again. I went to a tech highschool for auto with every intention in making a career out of it. I loved everything about that shop, but I realized it was more of a hobby for me rather than something I want to spend my life doing. Believe me. You'll change your mind 2983651 times before you graduate. ****, I graduated almost a year ago and I still don't know what I'm going to do and I know there are people here even older than I am who are in the same position. Just focus on your work and don't take it for granted. Now I have to pay for a year of college to bring my grades up to do what I want to do because I was "too worried about everything else" when I was in highschool to do it all right the first time. Now I'm kicking myself.

You know if you go to a tech school and change your mind on careers which you will because you're a 14 year old it takes out a good chunk of colleges on the list you would be able to go to if you went to high school.

I think your trying to act more grown up than you need to be. Dude, you got a lot to learn. The only thing that should be on your mind at your age is school, video games, and girls. You will be wasting your time and your rents money doing a tech school now because you will, and i mean will change your mind about what you want. Ride it out, go to highschool. the highschool will accommodate your needs. you may have to just take basic classes. and dude, thats perfectly fine. If your worrying about what you want to do, or where to go to school in 8th grade, your gonna die from stress at the age of 30. Grow down man, your a kid and you need to be a kid.

^^lol x2. I knew some kids that where like 15 that lit part of the basin on fire near our house. they pretty much got a slap on the wrist. I mean, they did get a nice letter sent to their home, but nothing actually done to them. Just live your kid life man. Stop trying to be a man, you got your entire life to do that.

i got in trouble when i was 15 and they made an example at of us. i got off the easiest tho. but the one kid that was 18 got a little fine.

What are u crazy im doing all kinds of stupid **** and im 19 and dont care its just u have to be smart and know a good place to blow stuff up and do ****. Lol when i went to the metallica event there was tons of people smokeing pot lol and the cops didnt do **** since it was so many people. So dony worry when ur 18 or older u can do the same stuff u just have to think of a good time to do it and where to do it

seriously dude? people smoke at every concert. and down the city ive smoked j's in front of cops. pot isnt a big deal.

Smoking weed is illegal. The question is can you live with the consequences if you DO get caught, not answering that you will NEVER get caught. Maybe you won't ever get in trouble, but is the what-if enough to be a deterrent?

As to the original question at hand. Go to high school. If you pigeonhole yourself into a tech school then you may limit your options later on. If you graduate from high school, and still want to make a trade in the automobile field, then you can do that when you are done high school.

At the end of the day you should do whatever it is that you are passionate about, but balance that with a little practicality. If you want to work at a car dealership, remember that they are not doing so well these days. Maybe you can think bigger. I always got a kick out of the science of automobiles. Thermodynamics, physics, etc. was always were I spent a lot of time. Anyone can follow directions and put a motor together, but what about building a motor to your own specs and trying new things out?
