Any meets in the area on Saturdays?

I was thinking of swinging by Holstein ave like I used to do every weekend before police activity scaled, maybe there wont be that many out because of the cold, then again there wont be a lot of people racing... Sucks. Anyway, if anything, hit me up.

Does anything still go down on holstein? We went out there in the summer to drift and it was dead... But I know a lil while ago Port Richmond was pretty popular. Do u participate or watch?

I used to run a lot there, just mostly watch now in days unless I'm racing a friend or get really bored. I haven't been down there in a while, last few times nothing really went down so I haven't bothered much. Holstein is more of a drag street, never seen anyone try to drift in it unless you're talking about drifting around the corners of 78th, 76th, 74th and Brewster ave which are all connected around and to Holstein ave.

Bad news...

don't want to retype, so copying from Z forum:

Hey guys...

I was initially writing this as a PM to a few guys, but figure I may as well make a post out of it.

Last night, my Z was totaled. I was in Manayunk (district of Philadelphia), and came up around a bend on the main street. There was a car just parked/stopped in the middle of the road - because of the turn I could not see it until I was right upon the vehicle. Since there was an oncoming car in the opposite direction, I attempted to avoid the parked vehicle by braking and swerving to the right. However, I nicked that car (took out my front left corner entirely) and went head first into a parked Volvo. Needless to say, we can all imagine what would happen when Z meets Volvo. The front end of my car accordioned, POP filter was laying smashed up on the ground...just one giant mess.

Luckily, no one was injured in the accident. For SOME reason, I pulled a "Robo" and had my window open (even in the dead of winter!). Because I was trying to avoid the incident, I was "swerving" and the angle of impact would have caused my head to smash into the DS window...so I'm considering myself quite lucky right now.

However, I'm thinking that I am going to have to forfeit my car to the tow company that picked it up...don't really have anywhere to store it, but would love to pull off a lot of the items on board. They told me that if I am leaving the car to them, I can go and pick up my personal items and stereo - which will include my boost controller, turbo timer, t-top shades, etc (obviously)...but it looks like my tails, exhaust, etc may be gone forever. Unless it's not a gated lot...then I'll be sure to make a return trip this evening

Anyway, I want to thank you guys for all of the support and help you've provided over the last few years. I am extremely appreciative of all of the advice and wisdom that has been transferred over this time, and will surely miss the comradery within the Z community. I've been missing from the meets/chats over the last few months, but this was due to a demanding transition into my new job...it really rendered me unable to afford the time to enjoy my hobbies and passions. The irony is that I have been settling in and finding a balance recently, and now I am left unable to enjoy one of the truly stimulating activities I've experienced - working on and learning about my 300zx.

So that's all for now. I am sure my roommate and I will be heading over to pull off as many parts from the car as possible today - I will try and remember to bring my camera to show you the "carnage" photos.

Thank you to everyone here for the last few years. A special thanks to Barry, Jon Jewell, Jared, Brian M, Jeff, and all of the NJ guys (Diego, Ed, etc) for your advice, assistance, and friendship. I hope to continue to pester you at local meets and cruises, and hopefully one day will return with another Z.

Thanks guys.

7am at Best Buy

First car off at NJMP isn't until 10 so you guys that are just going to watch can totally meet at BB at 9 and get down there with plenty of time to watch the madness but those of us that are running need to get there by 8 to get through tech, course walks, worker assignments, and driver meetings

No clue...can't really afford to buy a car right now so I'm kind of in an awkward place.

Thanks man..and let me know if there are any odds n ends that you need off this car. I'm having a hard time finding a place to have it towed so that I can part it out, but when I do I need to strip this SOB right down.

haha too bad you didn't hold off on doing the swap.
