No, I got her at 8 weeks, but was in touch with the breeder before she was born. I've got another pic that I can't find from a day or two after she opened her eyes. Yeah they're supposed to stay with mom for 8 to 10 weeks. There was only two in the litter so she got big real quick, already almost 12lbs!

^^me and my fiance are having the same problem with Mac. He won't let me clip his names and I am trying not to hurt him. We tried to go to petsmart Sunday but there were too many other dogs there (yeah he doesnt like other dogs too much) this afternoon I am bringing him to a smaller place that shouldn't have anyother dogs around 'cept for some puppies in cages higher up on the front room for sale

You guys should invest in a Dremel for nails if your pooches don't like nail clippers

I hung out with CHAOS today at some park in Downingtown and brought my little stinker

Most dogs that have issues with a nail clipper is b/c they dont like to have their feet touched. The chances of them sitting still for a dremel are pretty slim...

My parents dogs hate nail clippers but are perfectly fine with a Dremmel. I see no reason for a person to have trouble Dremmeling their dogs' nails if they introduce it properly. Lots of dogs don't like getting their nails clipped because people can't clip properly. I wouldn't like it either.

Obviously all dogs are different. My Lab doesnt care either way, though she def seems to prefer the nail clippers. Like you said, I think most dogs have bad reactions to clippers b/c people dont do it right/dont know what they are doing.

Yea we tried taking Patches to petsmart and it was a horrible experience. Shes such an awesome dog 100% of the time, but when they got her on the table and tried to clip her nails, she just snapped. Its just the one thing that she doesn't like at all. Im not sure if someone cut them bad one time or what. She's really my Xgf's dog, so i haven't been around her whole life. The whole situation is especially sensative since she is a pitbull. Every pitbull owner hates to see their dog have anything to do with the stereotype. But when you try to clip this dog's nails she just doesn't play that ****, lol.

The vet gave us a sedative for her, for when we want to clip her nails. It was funny and all, but she was still able to avoid letting us get all of her nails. She doesn't snap with us, just pulls her paws back and struggles, but she tried to snap at the petsmart girl. At home with the sedative, we got like, half of them i think.

And im pretty sure it has nothing to do with what tool were using. With Patches, it's just when you start focusing on her paws. You can grab them all day if you're not trying to cut the nails. Once you have something in your hand and you're actually trying to do something to them, she gets scared. So yea it definatly sounds like someone gave her a bad clip job at one point. Probably her owner...

Too bad you are not closer I could give it a try and show you how to get her used to it.

Just turn the dremmel on in a room that shes in, and let it run, dont hold it. And when she goes close to it, treat her.
