If you are running high boost on your Subaru you will most likely expose your intake system with oil vapor. This will most likely occur under hard driving. This is due to more compressed air bypassing the rings. This is one reason why there is significant amount of oil loss in between race and oil changes.

preventing oil from getting ingested by your turbo and into your intake,is very important as not doing so will greatly reduce the efficiency of your engine reduce octane and cause engine knock which will cause the ecu to retard timing.

There are 2 ways to achieve this, the 1st way is to install a catch can system which simply catches the blowby oil in a can which causes oil consumption and when filled can created an oily mess. Option 2 is to get an air oil separator this system basically separates the oil from the air and returns the oil back into the block, causing less oil consumption and a better system than a catch can in general.

A/O Separator options

Until now Crawford was the only company to produce an a/o separator system that works how its supposed to. While it is an awesome unit and performs well, the pricing seems a little high.

Ray gets his hands on one!!!! & why

For the longest time i have been noticing a huge increase in oil consumption, the problem did not really start until i was running higher boost levels, my intercooler will get some oil in it etc. Now with the built motor i even see more of this, in fact sometimes under boost you can even see smoke coming out of the exhaust. I began to do my research on a/o separators and finally had a conference call with the owner of ixizconcept and a test unit was sent out to me. I was already convinced that the unit would work !!!!!

When the unit 1st got delivered i was trying to figure out a way to eliminate my ecu and plug this in while at the same time my son was busy trying to pull the unit off my hands to plug it into the back of the TV. The unit looks like some fancy electronic device but due to its design it fits just about any where. within 20 minutes i had the unit installed on the car and out for a test drive. At this time the car feels pretty normal however when in boost there was absolutely no smoke , of course i smiled.

Yesterday i was on the road all day , at this point the car is driving a lot smoother and under boost felt crispier, learning view of the ecu later revealed that the feedback knock correction i was randomly getting before is no longer there. Last night i pulled the intercooler piping off to find them completely dry unlike before, there was not a trace of oil in my intercooler piping or throttle body area like before.
