yeah, it's a bit ridiculous.
In order for the iphone to recieve the picture, they either have to go to a website and log in with some username and password that is made up for you (so you have to write it down or have a photogenic memory.) or they have to get it sent to their email and can pull it up from there.

For them to send messages, they have to either send them to your email or figure out the email for your phone.

sounds behind the times for a phone that is so high tech

ok ok ok... i've owned the g1 for about... 2 hours now... i'm hardly getting work done. i can't put this phone down. Now, this is my first "smart phone" i've upgraded from the samsung trace, which is an ultra thin phone and i loved it for what it was... a rather simple phone with the bare necessities...

now... the G1 so far has been pretty stellar! The free marketplace is what is going to make this phone superb though, but don't look for too much just yet. the coolest app i found was one that uses the camera to scan a barcode, then search online for the product and let you know where it can be bought and at what prices.

So far I've found the browsing to be just fine. nice and responsive. I want to buy a 16gb sd card for it, but that is $75... it comes with a 1gb, and since i've never used all of the 512 in my trace, i'm not to concerned. The one thing i'm not to fond of, is the lack of virtual keyboard. but considering the OS is open source, and the marketplace will offer free apps... it is only a matter of time before that is rectified, right now you need two hands to use the phone.... and for me that makes it a little difficult to do anything while using the phone.

either way, i know i said i'd wait... but after playing with one i couldn't put it down. I'm really excited to see what the future holds for this phone

i hate that bout my 3g. how the hell can such a high tech phone not receive pic messages???? the speakerphone part sucks on too, its was too quiet. i sold my old one for 150 and upgraded to the 3g for only 50bucks, so that was pretty cool.

Actually next huge update will dominate. No more problems forwarding, ability to recieve pic's, and the option to make your own "background"

No details on when, this is been rumored from the apple "labs" and through friends that work at AT&T corp. They have been waiting to release this update because of the new gen phones coming out they wanted to make sure everyone know's that this phone is the ****.

Bry, Aside from using barry's phone for a few minutes if you wanna play around with mine a little more you can. Its not the 3g though its a 1st gen on edge

go play with the G1. Some things are pretty intuitive... other's not so much. I've been searching around on it for the last few hours w/o reading the manual to see what I can figure out on my own... so far so good.

thanks justin... i havent been worrying too much yet since my verizon contract is through the end of december, but when it comes down to it i'll definitely be doing some shopping around to check them all out.

Roughly 1 month (or less) until its go time... and honestly the iPhone still seems to be clearly in the lead. I wish some amazing new phones would come out and give it some competition, or when is iPhone 3 coming out? Better not come out like 2 months after I buy mine...

i love macs to death but if i was eligible to get a new phone i would not buy the iphone. well i would consider it but also consider blackberry curve and also you can keep your plan with verizon and pay month by month if your waiting for a new phone to come out. eh. **** it get the iphone lol they're sweet but expensive

i have the samsung omnia..traded my blackberry storm in for it...so nice..5 megapixel cam.. windows 6.1...so easy to use and navigave..wifi and 3g. check it out troll or im me if u want to check it out sometime.

i'd say iphone just because i have one and love them.. I cant find anything wrong with them.. The touch screen is flawless unlike a lot of phones and there are just thousands of applications easy web and email use i love it.
