anyway temp agencies are usually good. i tried one down the street, but i hated the job they lined me up with. they try to work with you to find a job you are happy with. at least in my experience.

$400 = car in the crapper? Fix it, $400 isn't bad. $4000 = much worse. Not like you can sell your car and get one of equal cost that will be more reliable... that's why it's worth as much as it is in the first place.

Blaise, it wasn't just 400. It was 400 + another grand or so. I was barely getting by as is with what I was making WITH a job. $400 in what they did set me back and the $400 was unrelated to the actual problem with my car.

jul! sorry to hear, that sucks. make sure that you are eligible for unemployment, and if so then don't get too bummed. you can just do the school/holiday thing and take a deep breath, then start looking for a replacement soon. it sucks, but i'm sure you'll land on your feet.
