I've never seen FioS HD, but have heard good things. If you can stand their non-existing customer service, constant downtime and billing faux pas', go with Fios HD. I'm going to be biased here and say go with Comcast HD.

i've had fios hd and 20Mbps/20Mbps internet for over a year now. my friends and I both agree that the hd picture is better than comcast, but I think comcast will catch up once DOCSIS 3.0 is fully deployed. it's been proven that comcast compresses their hd more than other providers (google it).

downtime? non-existent.

my first thought was to say fck Comcast and go with Verizon becasue of the constant BS i've had to deal with from Comcast (at 2 different houses), but then again they're all going to suck in different ways... you're going to pay too much... and you're going to be left wanting more/better service lol.

Compressed TV signal, slow internet, and piss poor customer service. I'm going to give Comcast the big thumbs down here. We hopped on FIOS the minute it was available and there is no looking back.

Can the FIOS haters elaborate on whats so bad about it?

I'll admit, The Fios Internet is great....But for the cable service, the lag time to access menus and the lag time changing channels is absolutely rediculous! Its a possibility its just the connection in my area but my relatives and freinds have the same issues. They also changed the channel line-up 3 times in the last 8 months which pissed me off! Comcast also had alot more free movie selections, Fios...not so much with out subscribstions. With all the technology that went into fios, you would think they would have a more in depth channel guide rather then the rolling tv guide channel for the addtional room connections with the small tuner box.

Since I've had Fios I rarely watch Fios because I get annoyed just looking at the TV

I've never had a problem with Comcast customer service and I have had their digital tv and high speed since 1998(back then high speed was 768kbps). I called Verizon ONCE to inquire about Fios and wanted to blow my brains out within the first 2 minutes.

The only advantage I will give Fios internet is their symmetric upsteam and downstream packages and low latency. That will all change when DOCSIS 3.0 is implemented in the most competitive areas, though. Do I hear downstream and upstream channel bonding + Fiber-To-The-Premise(tap). In my opinion, Fiber to the home is a bit overkill.

This is pretty petty, but I hate...hang on....HATE....the menus on Comcast HD. Purely from a visual/resolution standpoint...they look like poo. My brother has Fios and, while there is some lag in the menu, the presentation is worlds better; they look like they were designed to be used in HD where the Comcast does not.

I thought the Fios picture quality was good, but it is hard to compare when they aren't side by side.

The thing is with comcast if you bitch, they will give you something to shut you up and they will fix the problem in a decent amount of time. Verizon's motto, hey we're here and ****, you want something?sucks.....we can send someone out in the time period of 2 weeks to never.

The rules don't always apply. Your experiences is not everyone's.

Like I said, I have been a comcast customer since 1998 in three different states, and never had a problem with customer service. Oh, and if you knew where I worked you'd understand how ridiculous of a statement it must be for me to make.
